Correct me if I’m wrong. I think it’s to do with South Ossetia wanting independence from Georgia, and there not having it, so in order to try and help the people of Ossetia Russia decides to go in with there military and defend the Ossetia people whom are being massacred by the Georgian army.

Well infact where Bushy is wrong is that in Beijing we are specifically promoting nothing. Because we don't want to piss off our hosts, we keep all the politics to the sidelines. For Bush to say we are promoting peace and harmony is more than a little ignorant of him.

Georgia started it right? Not with Russia, but it was Georgia's activities that got the Russians started? The media is suggesting Russia pounced out the blue!

Russia went in fast and got the job done they set out to do. The Economist suggested that it was a pre-planned attack. They certianly did mobilise quickly.


Russia wrote the script for the war......
