Wimbledon. This year's Championships are a must watch for any tennis fan. Shocking upset when Rosol beat Nadal. I'm rooting for Roger all the way- got a horrible scare yesterday when he was taken to brink by Benneteau.

I wonder whether poor Andy Murray can sustain the British hype and win the tournament. Even though Nadal's gone, he's still got stiff competition in Tsonga, and Rosol may be a dangerous guy.

Life on Mars. Season 1. Episode 5. I'd only ever seen snippets of this series but am enjoying watching it from start to finish

A programme on The Who's Quadrophenia album.

The whole thing put the album in a bad light, for me. I don't like the album to begin with, I abhor the stolid synth and piano work and the general chugging pace that it moves along. However I didn't realise the sheer levels of Townshend's pretentiousness with the album. It follows a concept sure, but it tries to do too many things in too patchy a way. I think the rest of The Who must have been spitting tacks at having Townshend coming in every other week saying "I've written fifty tunes about Meher Baba" or "I've written a concept album about mods" or whatever. To force a band into making all this music is pretty unfair.

A BBC documentary David Bowie and the story of Ziggy Stardust.
I know the record and I had already seen some of the videos. So it wasn't all that new to me. But funny to hear that it was shocking what he did back in 1972.

I saw that as well. I'm shocked he put his bassist and drummer on a lower wage and didn't tell them he was breaking up the band until the last gig. :? Never been a fan of Bowie and this didn't help matters further (although I love the track Life on Mars).

That wasn't very considerate of him indeed, to put it mildly.
Life on Mars is a great song, but I also like the Ziggy album.

A TV show "The best singer songwriter of the Netherlands".
A sort of Idols or X Factor, but much nicer. And with people who make their own music.
