I was happy to see Carl Palmer win the Virtuoso award. Seeing as this is the first Prog (Or "Prod" if you read the newsletter :-; ;) ) award ceremony, shall we take bets on who gets it next year? If it's a drummer then it's got to be Bill Bruford. But will that be too predictable? And would Robert Fripp turn down the award?
Well done to the Floyd for winning the award, but will the split cost them the Lifetime Achievement gong? (Probably not seeing as Genesis won it and they've had a lot more splits!)

I didn't know that either. Surprised it's not a more well known fact then again I'm not really a big fan of either.

A/w I learnt that the Macca song Somedays was the last survior in a song elimination thread I started on the Macca official forum last year not long before I thought the board had become inaccessable to me and the other board members had taken most of this year up until about 2 weeks ago to finally eliminate all but that one song. It wouldn't have won if I'd still been there. I think they all just felt they couldn't eliminate it 'cause it's a weepy about Linda dying.

The Eastern tip of Africa is further East than the furthest tip of Ireland. Also Mocow's timezone is ahead of Baghdads by one hour and ahead of Cairo by 2 hrs which doesn't seem to make much sense.

Foxxconn make the Kindle and Wii as well as iPhones and iPads, and until recently made Xbox consoles.

This is a bit akward...The Apple A4 is a package on package (PoP) system-on-a-chip (SoC) designed by Apple Inc. and manufactured by Samsung.[2]

Nonce stands for Not On Normal Communal Exercise. Although it refers to sex offenders not allowed to exercise with other prisoners, I have wondered where the word came from. Anyone else know of other good acronyms?

I've spent nearly 8 yrs in jail and never knew that. Then again I used to have a little saying I used to tell my visitors when they asked me things about what goes on in jail 'I know about as much as I care...and in both cases it's very very little! Also I was padded up next to Colin Joyce for about 6 mths and didn't know who he was until I'd got released and saw him on the news being sent down for 38 yrs!!! He was one of the biggest gand bosses in Manchester!! I even had a little spat with him.
btw
Don't lose your deps!!! *wink wink*

A/w Jupiter and Zeus are the same person/god. I knew Venus was the Roman name for Aphrodite and Ulysses was the Roman name for Odysseys but...

The tower in Pisa was already tilted when they built it. They tried to compensate that during the builiding process and you can see that the top floor is less tilted than the rest of the tower.
