g'bye, g'bye, g'bye

In about 15 minutes a big asteroid http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-22736709 is going to make its closest pass by Earth.
If all calculations are correct it should miss. Meantime, butterflies should not beat their wings, nor should anyone fart.

This thing was 2.5 Kms in diameter and came the closest to us at 6 million Kms. Meanwhile there's a 734.770.000.000.000.000.000.000.000 Kg rock spinning around us all the time at only 378.000 Kms of distance, and still life goes on.

That said, if that little rock had howeve hit us, it would have been "game over" for us.

Seems like it did miss us after all. How disappointing!

Or better yet, watching a live broadcast with some scientists explaining the whole thing, and then suddenly saying something like this: wait a second! Wait a second! It seems like the solar rays are melting some previously unseen ice on the surface of the asteroid. This is really beautiful, a great steam of vapour is coming out of it! It's quite astonishing, how beau... Oh my god! It's changing its trajectory! Oh god oh god! It's coming straight to us! Oh lord no!
