PRINTING tutorial

Post by Damn!t »

EDITED: How the hell do i get this Damn thing printed? :-s

I will try to explain how to print the booklet.

Actuall print size of 1 booklet page must be 12x12 cm.

You have to print everything in exact order and pages have to be layered like this:

1) Page 1
Print on the opposite side of paper:
2) Page 2

3) Page 3
Print on the opposite side of paper:
4) Page 4

5) Page 5
Print on the opposite side of paper:
6) Page 6

7) Page 7
Print on the opposite side of paper:
8) Page 8 - the smiley here is actually number 8, but the forum script is blocking me lol

9) Page 9
Print on the opposite side of paper:
10) Page 10

11) Page 11
Print on the opposite side of paper:
12) Page 12

13) Page 13
Print on the opposite side of paper:
14) Page 14

15) Page 15
Print on the opposite side of paper:
17) Page 16

How to print this thing?
- Click file/print with preview
- Dont panic
- Clik Page Setup up there
- Mark Landscape in Orientation check box and press ok
- Go to Scaled Print Size and type 12 (cm) in the height box
- Click Print

That should be it!

Pages look the best if they are printed on high quality papers (glossy and stuff),
and printing preferences must be set to the best quality (goes a bit slower but looks much, much better)
When the page is printed, turn it arround on the other side (you're going to print on the other, blank side now)
and repeat the whole DAMN 8) procedure that i'v tryed to explain above.

I know it looks a bit complicated but pain is temporary, booklet is forever!

Thank you Damn!t Good work with the tutorial (I think  I have not printed the booklet yet)

Since we have two blank pages in the booklet  I suggest that you print the pages in this order. This will give you a blank first page (left page when you open the booklet) and a blank last (back) page. I think the booklet look better this way.

(it is OK to kill me if I have misunderstod the whole thing  )

1) Blank page+ Front cover
Print on the opposite side of paper:
2) Blank page+ Page 27

3) Page 26 + Mossy intro1
Print on the opposite side of paper:
4) Mossy intro2 + Page 25 +

5) Page 24 + Page 1
Print on the opposite side of paper:
6) Page 2 + Page 23

7) Page 22 + Page 3
Print on the opposite side of paper:
8)Page 4 + Page 21

9) Page 20 + Page 5
Print on the opposite side of paper:
10) Page 6 + Page 19

11) Page 18 + Page 7
Print on the opposite side of paper:
12) Page 8 + Page 17

13) Page 16 + Page 9
Print on the opposite side of paper:
14) Page 10 + Page 15

15) Page 14 + Page 11
Print on the opposite side of paper:
16) Page 12 + Page13

Oh yeah, it does work out that theres 2 blank pages, what I'll do is crop a square version of the tray inlay with the full tracklisting as a back page, not sure what to do about the other one, perhaps use a fave pic of Floyd or something rather than leave it blank.

Maybe the artwork team should add two good pictures to the booklet? What do you think Damn!t?

Thats what I was thinking... before we distribute it any further!!! Has anyone actually printed it out yet? Does it all fit together without any blank pages?

I have made small handwritten booklets to test this. If you want to print it on both sides it will always be two blank pages.

Hmmm...yes...or you can have one loosy one in the midlle
Or maybee not.
Keith, send those couple of tracks you have on the forum, write couple of words about them, and we'll find appropriate art for that.
We have plenty of art to add.

I'll send you two additional pages Keith on neptune mail.
I have to work it out with Gunnar before, ok?
I think we should def. go with tracklist on one of them - thx Stu!
Guys, wait for a day and we'll come up with something to fill this gap.

it does, so theres no big tragedy if this comes out like this.
I'v printed it and it looks ok. Only problem is that page in the midlle.
We could either dump 2 pages or add 2 pages. Obviously, we cannot dump any of 'em.
2 more songs would be perfect, couse there whas exact number of elements for the booklet (songs, intro, art), and to be honest, i didnt think that this problem may occure.
We'll add couple of pages and it will be ok.

Possibly a collage of some sort could make up the middlemost page... like a more inclusive bunch of avatars than on the cover, or a bunch of photos from the "sexiest NPF members" thread... or something.... enigmatic? :-s

So, should I take the current booklet down off the server as I am about to torrent the 3 discs in the next 7 days starting tonight? I have included the artwork for each disc with each of the three torrents but have left the booklet on the server for people who are interested in printing that out. When do you expect the boklet to be "complete"?

It's much simpler now, couse i'v pasted pages together.

Enjoy! :)
