Curious Coincidence: Chapter 24 & Syd's death

Post by dancure »

Of course, it turns out to be kind of psycothic to think this way but...

Syd Barrett died 7/7/06

Which could be read like he died a 7th day of the 7th mond of year 6

Chapter 24's lyrics is:

First paragraph:

A movement is accomplished in six stages
And the seventh brings return.
The seven is the number of the young light
It forms when darkness is increased by one.
Change returns success
Going and coming without error.
Action brings good fortune.
Sunset.

I was doing some research and the winter solstice in England happend on June 21st this year... I should think that the disease that gave death to Syd must have had him very complicated by then...

Second Paragraph:

The time is with the month of winter solstice
When the change is due to come.
Thunder in the other course of heaven.
Things cannot be destroyed once and for all.
Change returns success
Going and coming without error.
Action brings good fortune.
Sunset, sunrise.

It's crazy but in the second paragraph he says that the moment (which dan be interpreted as the moment when the disease arrives strongly) happens in the winter Solstice (June 21st), when the change is due to come (could be read as the change from life to death)...

Point is, if we understand change as death, and we go back to the first paragraph, we have that Syd says:

"Change returns success"

Which is saying that with his death, success returns, as it happens to all musicians when they die and are recognized to the point of being overrated...

The rest of it is practically literal...

Anyway, as Syd says, things can't be destroyed... and one clear thing is that his legacy is doubtlessly one of those things...

Of course, thinking that Syd's death is part of a lifetime-long plan is ridiculous, but these little coincidences make me vibe avery time I think of them...
as stated in another post... it looks like there's somebody writing a perfect story somewhere... a over 60-years-long perfect story...

Forgive me, but I seem to be missing something here...

HOW is it possible that June 21st is the WINTER solstice in a country in the Northern Hemisphere?

Shouldn't that have been the SUMMER solstice? Being as Summer is in full swing and Winter is nowhere near this month?

Get out of here! I don't believe this stuff at all!

Sadly somebody sooner or later will, same way that people who never actually knew the guy felt he was their best friend.

All that crap...
