Graf on Roger's road

Post by froobydoob »

I was cycling by earlier on (cue "Bike") and was amazed to see this....

I don't think the graf on the road sign is done by the same person as the wall art. The wall is in the style of a well known local graf artist and, whilst I'm not a fan of normal graf, this is superb and I hope it gets left.

Also, the fence has gone outside Roger's house. I hope nobody pinched it (cue Ebay auction for "Syd Barrett's fence").

the sign is bad but the syd on the wall is really quite amazing, i hope the work on the sign doesnt turn people against the portrait because that deserves to be left

With respect, I don't we need to go mad on naming things after Syd. There is actually a bench dedicated to him - it's not been publically announced where it is though. Naming a street after him is a bit much I think. :)

Im sure they will
they just recently named Joe Shuster St in Toronto, decades late
(Shuster cocreated Superman and had some Toronto connection when he was a kid)
towns name streets after local heroes, its a matter of civic pride

hmmm, imagine the scene at Syd Barrett St, itd be a pilgrimage destination alright
