Syd Barrett Street Art

Post by Keith Jordan »

It would seem someone has been graffiti-ing the St Margetets Square where Roger Keith Barrett once lived much to the annoyance of some residents.

Some people think it is disrespectful to the memory of Syd, other think it is bad for people who are not local and can not navigate the roads properly!!

Thoughts?

Can anyone get a photo of what has been done?

I think it's really silly to cover the street signs with graffiti, but I quite like the piece on the brick wall.

Hmmmm, i can imagine the residents who care not for Syd's legacy will be very pissed off about this. I doubt it's been done by young little whippersnappers wearing hoods (although i could be wrong) but somehow i like the sentiment of it and the mural on the wall is pretty good as Ringo says. I'd still string them up though

That "SHINE ON" sign is ugly. Black text doesn't work.

Well, not street art but I've painted this myself. It's the cover of my new solo album.

That's the best jazz record of the past 300 years.

The original pressing was a perforated roll of paper for a player-piano.

Which was thoughtfully soaked in urine to make it nearly unplayable.

Any reason? He did just as much spamming in this thread as I did.
