Keith still likes the BBC news it seems. That was a fascinating little tid-bit...anything to be more energy efficient makes me happy.

President Bush accused of lap-synching during performance with Britney Spears

San Diego, CA (O! Online) - In her first live performance in years, and after a controversial abbreviated trip to rehab, Britney Spears received a lap dance from President George W Bush, who had flown cross country just to attend the event and show support for Ms. Spears. Afterwards, the president and first lady thanked her for her continued support over the years and welcomed her back to show business.
This was the president's second dance performance in as many weeks, coming off of a limited special engagement with a group of African dancers who had made an appearance at the White House. An administration spokesperson stated that focus groups had rated the president very highly in multiple approval scores in regards to his dancing abilities. The White House is also reported to be considering a guest appearance on "Dancing with the Stars" for the president.

The president's performance was said to be met with "shock and awe" by the carefully selected and appreciative audience. Half way through the performance, however, the secret service was seen to wrestle to the ground and escort out a lone heckler who began shouting criticisms and accused the president of "lap-synching".

An appreciative Spears afterwards reaffirmed her steadfast support of the president and his position on the war in Iraq. "He has some real talent," stated Spears, "I've offered whatever support he might need in his ongoing dance with congress... whether he chooses to waltz, tango, or just slam dance, I'm sure he'll do just fine."

GASOLINE PRICES!!!!!

WTF!!! I paid $3.39/gallon ($0.90/liter) this morning! :x ARGH! It cost me over $50.00 to fill my tank! Granted I must use 92+ octane in my car, but this is getting ridiculous! They have predicted that prices will rise to $4.00/gallon by mid-summer!

Oh, and don't tell me...the oil companies are still posting record profits....

Take a cab, ride the bus, use a bike.

It is a privilege to drive. If you don't like the gas prices, don't drive.

Well that's very noble, but terribly impractical in my situation. Furthermore, my point is that the prices are out of control due to politics and greedy oil companies which has a severely negative impact on the economy and will cause tremendous inflation if allowed to continue!

Really the cost is about demand...there aren't enough straws in the ground, because it is terribly expensive and a long drawn out process to extract AND refine gas/petrol...China and India have huge needs and I believe car sales in China are up something rediculous like 400% growth each year...too much demand!!

Well correct my sense of logic, but if the demand and resultant costs are so high, the price charged to the consumer should be commensurate with these increases, therefore profits earned by the oil companies should be keeping pace in a linear fashion, not increasing exponentially!!

90c a litre? It's a long time since I paid that to fill my car. At the moment here in Ireland, petrol is €1.10 ($1.50) a litre, give or take a few cents. I'm not up to date with how much fuel costs in Britain but it used to be more expensive again.

Here in Serbia a liter of gasoline is 89 Dinar, that's exactly 1,10 Euro, so I can't believe that it's the same price as in Ireland. I've traveled Europe a lot (never been to Ireland though) and I know for sure that everything else is a lot cheaper in Serbia, due to our lower economy standard.
