And all thier early albums come as deluxe edition dual discs at a way cheaper price than most deluxe editions (well, that was the case when there still was a Sam the Record Man).

The vinyl discs over here were released on the Decca, Deram and Threshold record labels as far as I recall and they did always seem more luxurious an item to me at that time. The vinyl seemed more substantial than a lot of other discs and the inner paper sleeve was lined in clear plastic film. Not a particularly high standard of luxury you may think but it seemed that way at the time.
My favourite tracks of theirs are the last two on Every Good Boy Deserves Favour, namely You Can Never Go Home and My Song which in my view are pretty near masterpieces.
They were released on the same labels here...and yes, I always preferred the plastic inside the paper sleeve...hell, I had hundreds of albums which I insisted on having plastic on the outside!!! Local shop gave me tonnes for free...I had some of their orginal releases from the sixties, and I just think vinyl was heavier back then.
I had a beautiful Japanese pressing of "Threshold" that I had to sell years ago in order to eat Damn!t. Wasn't there a Mobile Fidelity vinyl version? If so, I want it.
Well...he's a very nice, cool fellow, nosaj. But I don't want to do anything "weird" with him. "Not my cuppa" as they say. And anyways, he's too far away
Still on the Moodies theme I've got two Ray Thomas albums ( not sure if he did more) "From Mighty Oaks" and "Hopes Wishes and Dreams" which I like also, anyone else heard these?
Very true indeed.
I've all of these and others too ; and these :-
I love these lyrics:- Lyrics to "The Word & Om":-
>The Word by Graeme Edge :-
This garden universe vibrates complete
Some, we get a sound so sweet
Vibrations reach on up to become light
And then through gamma, out of sight
Between the eyes and ears there lie
The sounds of colour and the light of a sigh
And to hear the sun, what a thing to believe
But it's all around if we could but perceive
To know ultraviolet, infrared and X-rays
Beauty to find in so many ways
Two notes of the chord, that's our full scope
But to reach the chord is our life's hope
And to name the chord is important to some
So they give a word, and the word is...
----
OM by Mike Pinder :-
OM ,
The rain is on the roof
Hurry high, butterfly
As clouds roll past my head
I know why the skies all cry
OM
OM
Heaven
OM
The Earth turns slowly round
Far away the distant sound
Is with us everyday
Can you hear what it says?
OM
OM
Heaven
OM
The rain is on the roof
Hurry high, butterfly
As clouds roll past my head
I know why the skies all cry
I LOVE The Moody Blues!! Have seen them over a dozen times live, have all of their albums (encluding some I picked up in England when I was there in 2001). And two summers ago two friends and I followed them around Texas for three dates! Took tons of pictures!
Justin Hayward (singer/guitar) has some great solo stuff too!!
