I'm really looking forward to catching a copy.
And if Roger Waters doesn't like Piper nowadays or hasn't liked it ever in his life, I dont't care. I enjoy listening from time to time though it's not my favourite PF album.

I should have read this whole thread, because I went looking for it at a couple of places, and have only found the Stones issue...looks like later in the month or early next month...

He wasn't the main, creative, driving force of that album. Why SHOULD he like it any better than, say, AMLOR or TDB?

Damn straight.

Notes (in the magazine) for the CD: "Floyd Council provided Pink Floyd with half of their name. With no solo recordings of his own in existence, Floyd fans have remained largely ignorant of his work"... :o

He issued 6 solo tracks in 1937:

as "Dipper Boy Council"

Runaway Man Blues
I'm Grievin' and I'm Worryin'
Working Man Blues
Poor and Ain't Got a Dime

as "The Devil's Daddy-in-Law"

I Don't Want No Hungry Woman
Lookin' For My Baby

Thanks lovescene4, I remember trying to find Anderson and Council records back in the 80's, and not finding any.

Cheers nosaj: you're welcome... The Council solo tracks are on CD 'Carolina Blues 1937-1947' (Document label, Austria), though I think I prefer his work with Blind Boy Fuller...

I finally read the magazine in its entirety today (thanks Nick! ). There's nothing "new" or revolutionary in the content per se, but the articles are still a good read. Mark Blake's story on Syd is very well written. And of course, no surprise, Roger Waters comes off as an arrogant prick in the interviews.
