Yes, even love. But, love doesn't cost money...it just costs my soul.

Japanese mini lps or vinyl replicas are still the benchmark on packaging. the set of 14 titles is a bit over $1000 on ebay.

this box would have the mini vinyl replicas but a friend of mine who is ex-EMI confirms that this would be based on UK LP sleeves and much thinner to the japanese versions and hence nothing to replace the Japanese mini lps!

If there is no new material I don't see the point in buying it, and I usually buy everything and anything to do with Roger/Dave of Pink Floyd.

Just another shabby company looking to milk the teat! And in the states they want well over $200 BUCKS for this. Pretty soon they'll announce: PINK FLOYD: The Musical and perhaps: PINK FLOYD: The Board Game.
Maybe they'll even get into prepared foods:
Special Edition SPAM: Pink Floyd: The Deviled Ham.

Clearly David and the chaps can come up with something the fans will appreciate more: like a new album and ......A TOUR!!!??

I'd love to own this but just can't bring myself to re-buy music I already own just for some flashy new packaging. €200 is a lot of money :(

Does anyone know of a location for decent downloads of the covers? Whilst I would like to own the package, I will not as like everyone else (it seems) I already have all the albums in vinyl & CD, however, it would be rather cool to have the frontcovers on my desktop!!

en.wikipedia.org

Type in the album you want and it'll show you the original cover.

My wallet is just not motivated enough to fork out $300:00 for something that I've got scattered amongst my fragmented collection

I guess the bean counters have noticed, besides years of general sales, the popularity of Floyd's music with all the tribute bands flourishing around the world which is an obvious sign of the popularity of the band is getting stronger than ever.

With it you have new fans and fans that are re-discovering Floyds music with an often renewed out-look.

Then you have years of word of mouth.

As it is in marketing, when you have the demand, you have the sales.

Should be interesting to see how quick this limited box set,of 10,000 world-wide as I'm led to believe, sells out.

so, there are people who have pre-ordered this and taken posession already...and it appears the Japanese versions are better and more faithful to the original...

Nope. Except Storm's art, nothing new.
