How sad, I can't believe it. I didn't know he was sick. May he rest in peace.

*sigh* a man of many words, but these words were spoken with his fingers on the ebony and ivory. he truely was a professional musician. you only have to listen to the zabriske point sessions to know what was really flowing through his fingers. ("the violent sequence" and "love scene - version 4" are amazing examples)

he was well known as not liking many of his contributions to the floyd albums but if u listen to the songs from an analytical point of view, they are actually very complicated and well structured songs that couldn't possibly be done by any pop band.

noone could ever replace you richard as the floyd's pianist/keyboard player.

Don't know what to say. But my thoughts go out to his family. He will surely be missed the world over. Pink Floyd could not have been without his sound.

What a sad day. Rick's contributions defined the early floyd sound, and I feel was very underrated. I'm just glad that I got to see him in Pink Floyd and with David Gilmour at the Albert Hall.

Sincere condolences to his close friends and family

Amazing musician and a gentle soul.

I remember back after hearing Wearing the inside out when the Division Bell came out, myself and my best friend got really drunk and wrote him a fan letter praising his music and singing and asking him to sing more and release more solo albums.

Next thing we knew Broken China was released - I know its not because of our letter (obviously) but we still laugh about the coincidence.

He is the man that taught me to respect the space in between the notes as much as the notes. A true legend

May these condolences find their way to Richard's family and his closest friends to help honour the fact that he was a very well thought of person as well as an astounding musician who helped form and mould the music we have known over the last 4 decades. He, like those gone before him, will be sadly missed.... Rest In Peace Richard Wright....

Really sad news. The paradigm of less is more in the keyboard world.

Rest in peace and Shine on...

You will be missed.
