Yeah, I definitely don't think Christmas is possible!

My intention in suggesting that we move ahead is not to be taken as "let's ditch Geoff completely," but rather "let's let the man breathe and take on some of the workload ourselves".

Well said, Tanner.

Given the recent viral infestation of my computer, I wouldn't exactly say I'm ready/willing to become any sort of guidehead for this project; but if there's any way I can pitch in, I'll be happy to.

I'm about to spend the next month moving, but after the holidays, I'd imagine I can take an active part in this, if need be. :)

So, I'm bumping this back up because I've realized that there were songs intended for this project that were in various stages of completion when it fell through.

Would anyone that was involved with this project like to bring their songs over to the project currently underway? If so, just send me a pm. We'll work out the rest from there.

It would be a shame for those songs to just disappear, imo.

I'm surfing the Charybdis site right now - oh the memories... :)

Someone made a fictional artwork for the "band" - moomagooma. The author may not be here anymore (or was it ALL Hudini's work? The Square One cover was submitted by him)., but I've just noticed this, so... thank you :D !

Oh... BigDim posted the moomagooma one.

Sadly, Coldiron Fusion isn't up anymore...

Edit: reading the guestbook now... lots of LOLz

Nope. All I did was five or six of those. As far as I can remember, Annoying Twit did more, or at least as many as I did.

So...There was a lot of good stuff involved in this project. Here are some of the songs: http://www.artistopia.com/coldironfusio ... album/5027 It would be a shame to let it all slip away once these obscure sites vanish.

Keith, is there a way to add all this material to the site somewhere? Somewhere everybody could enjoy this stuff without the threat of it suddenly being lost in cyberspace? There are songs, videos, album covers, lyrics, etc. that should be preserved all in one spot.

If Geoff, or bpmolder, could be contacted somehow to get his permission to use this stuff, I would think it should be easy to compile what we have into an album of stuff ala Double Core. What do you all think?

Thanks for the kind words, Tanner :D
Alas, bpmolder is no longer with us on the forum... can't contact him either... I hope he's better than he was (some mental shit) :(

Or...we could just start over.

It would be a shame for these great songs that were written by people who are still part of the forum to not get a proper airing.

Perhaps we could Get Down To The Bare Bones Of Back To Square One (or something,) and see if we can make it coalesce like we did Double Core.

The most beautiful thing about Double Core (in my opinion,) is that it wasn't conceived with "mass marketing" in mind. It was just meant to be a showcase for what we here at the forum can do with whatever we have to do it with. It was a real "grass roots" effort of a mixed bag...some song had been professionally recorded in proper studios while others had been recorded at home on project studios...there was no attempt at unified sound other than that we were all trying to capture something of Pink Floyd that spoke to us.

It was a covers tribute without having to actually use covers.

As ambitious as this Charybdis project became, it could still become even if we strip down our notions and come at this again.

Does anyone besides me care to step up and say "I'll spearhead the thing?"

We will need to do all new recordings of any material. Truly Back To Square One.
