I saw a list somewhere and my friend said there was 14 or something so maybe they are surprises?

So far, there's been:
- Wot's...Uh The Deal? (Gdansk) for September
- Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Venice & Vienne) for October
- Dominoes (Paris) for November
- The Blue (Vienne) for December

Other than the first track, I see that the next ones have followed disc 5 from the full album set completely. If there are meant to be 14 tracks though, I wonder what the extra one is, since there are only 13 tracks counting all of disc 5 plus "Wot's...Uh the Deal?".

I wondered that, but have almost sceptically decided that, given the money making nature of "On an Island", the whole Live in Gdansk will be repackaged to include this as a rerelease.

Edit: More fittingly, perhaps The Great Gig in the Sky version will appear in some form as sort of Rick Wright tribute.

I hope not. I've heard of dead horses being flogged but this is ridiculous.

Perhaps either we might get to hear a good quality version of David's cover of Gnarls Barkeley's "Crazy" from some soundchecks...

Here is what we have up to now then.

Wot's...Uh The Deal? Sep 08
Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Venice, Vienne) - Oct 08
Dominoes (Live in Gdansk 3) - Nov 08
The Blue (Live, Vienne)- Dec 08
Take A Breath (Live, Munich) - Jan 09

And here is the contents of disc 5 (CD3)

Disc 5 (CD3) - http://www.neptunepinkfloyd.co.uk/index ... -cd-review

1. Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Live In Venice And Vienne)
2. Dominoes (Live In Paris)
3. The Blue (Live In Vienne)
4. Take A Breath (Live In Munich)
5. Wish You Were Here (Live In Glasgow)
6. Coming Back To Life (Live In Florence)
7. Find The Cost Of Freedom (Live In Manchester)
8. This Heaven (Live In Vienne)
9. Wearing The Inside Out (Live In Milan)
10. A Pocketful Of Stones (Live In Vienne)

So it looks like they are deiniftely just going through the contents of disc 5. It would have been nice to get something, er..... not on the discs already?? How about some demos? Recordings of jam sessions? etc.??

Yes. Got to agree with you there. Opportunity missed :( Surely DG and/or his people know that it's possible to rip audio from DVDs.

It actually makes no sense to have mp3 downloads at 192Kbps, when I already made much higher copies.

Maybe this is all about tracking Gilmour fan activities. Maybe the lawyers will be able to track your suspicious activities down. Maybe I'm paranoid.
The point is to get you to buy (and hold) the DVD. What they don't want is for people to buy the DVD, watch it a couple of times, and sell it on EBay. They can move more new units if there is no secondary market.

Also, the slightly reduced bitrate of the MP3s is in the hope that you'll buy the 5 disk version. I thought I read that the bonus stuff would be the same as disk 5, but maybe I just made that up.

It is all about getting us to decide how much we're willing to spend on this release and making sure they get as much of it as possible. I guess that's why they're making the big bucks and I'm just sitting here typing on a keyboard...

movement, I thought the only way to get the content online was to buy the vinyl or five disc set? Both of which already include the web content (well, the five disc set does not have Wot's, but the vinyl does).

The DVD you need to access the content is DVD1 which is disc 3 in the 5 disc collection.

Disc 1 - Audio CD1
Disc 2 - Audio CD2
Disc 3 - DVD1
Disc 4 - DVD2
Disc 5 - Audio CD 3 - Bonus Content

You need Disc 3 (DVD1) to get the web content. So that comes as 2CD+1DVD or 2DVD+2CD or 5 Disc boxset.

See "The 5 Discs – Or Variations Thereof" section for a handy table!

I hope you're right. Perhaps that cover of Gnarl Barkley's "Crazy"..failing that, there's always yet another version of "On An Island"

pooh...getting what you've already got is so disappointing

I don't even bother to go and watch for the webbonus anymore...there's nothing new anyhow.
