Re: Discography - Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports Discussion....
I assume only deaf people would want to own this album, regardless of the price. I have it somewhere but I didn't pay for it

I think this whole album is fictitious, it never existed.

I always assumed that this forum was for Pink Floyd related album discussion
Carla Bley is a fine musician, and there are parts on here that do remind me of the Frank Zappa style of jazz/rock infused pop music. However, some songs are much better than others. "Can't Get My Motor to Start" is kinda classic somehow.

Absolute rubbish. But I still kind of dig the cover and "Can't Get My Motor to Start" is hilarious...

Obtaining this CD seems like an expensive pursuit, unless you get it on Tree Full of Secrets bootleg! I think it is on there. But no trading on here!

Re: Nick Mason - Nick Mason's Fictitious Sports
I would imagine not many official copies of it on CD were released. I've only seen official copies of it on cassette and LP. My copy is a rip of the CD in mp3 format, which I snagged way back during Napster's heyday of 1999.Keith Jordan wrote:Obtaining this CD seems like an expensive pursuit

I gave it a 4.
This album is really great, despite the fact Nick Mason's input was minimal.

Nick contributed just as much to Michael Mantler's album Something There, and it's a much better album than Fictitious Sports.

No, not really...I bought it at a local HMV of all places, for about $15.99 last year and they promptly added another copy to their stock. But there's nothing to indicate Nick Mason's involvement other than his credit for drumming (and he drums on every track). Michael Mantler's name is on the front, not Nick's. It's actually a very good album. Very atmospheric, almost cinematic sounding jazz rock.oz1701 wrote:but even harder to find no doubt.Massed Gadgets wrote:Nick contributed just as much to Michael Mantler's album Something There, and it's a much better album than Fictitious Sports.

Right, it's the best song on the album, though the lyrics are awfully silly.drafsack wrote:I like this album its not bad at all - hot river stands out.
It is not. There are no official albums on "A Tree Full Of Secrets".drafsack wrote:Dont think it isKeith Jordan wrote:Obtaining this CD seems like an expensive pursuit, unless you get it on Tree Full of Secrets bootleg! I think it is on there. But no trading on here!
