Keith Jordan wrote:On its own, it is a great little album! But Amused To Death has to be his greatest solo album, followed by Radio K.A.O.S. I hated Radio K.A.O.S. the first few times I listened to it!

These are the prowwwss and cons of.. HITCHHIKING!!
I share your thoughts. Not that I hate Radio, but I don't get much of it.

I really love The Remains Of Our Love and always play it in my acoustic concerts :)

Love it. I would call it Waters finest set of lyrics to date, telling a very good and human story, while the real time aspect really appeals to me too. On a song by song basis i wouldn't call it particularly strong, but like much of what Waters has written the whole product is stronger than the sum of it's parts. Some sections really don't work too well (in particular the German carnival annoies the hell out of me) but the vocals are excellent, it's atmospheric and is the only Waters solo album which i don't feel is ruined by the production

There is one unintentionally hilarious bit though where Waters screams the line 'and we cut down some trees!' priceless

Never really been able to get into this very much. I love the Final Cut, Radio KAOS and Amused to Death, but I'm afraid here, I find the concept very shaky and the lyrical innuendo rather cringeworthy. In addition, I've always thought that Clapton's guitar clashes with Waters ideas.

My favourite part of the record (or at least that song) I think if I was going for one!

I've got nothing against Yoko Ono...but I like the part where Waters refers to her as a bitch and refuses to catch a ride with her.

I've heard this once at a friends place and hated it because it didn't sound much like Pink Floyd to me.

I remember Mossy telling a funny story about this album and him and his mate hanging out in a shed. Can't remember what thread it's in though

When you study English Literature, one of the first things you are taught is that ending any story with it all being a dream is "poetic fallacy". I think you can say Roger committed poetic fallacy in the case of this album.

I like the sound of this album, but don't care for the lyrics that much.
