Does anyone happen to know what the geometric design on the cover of the Shine On box set book is called?
This:
I have always loved it, and wanted to get it tattoo'ed on my back and this past Saturday I finally did. The question I keep getting is "what is that called?"
So, does anyone happen to know any background about this design and possibly what it is called, if anything?
Oh, and here is a pic of my back:
I posted this same question on the pinkfloydonline forums and one member said, "I always thought it represented Pulse and Dark Side Of The Moon. Map of the solar system with the Prism over it."
Any further thoughts on this? Comments? Thanks!

Re: Shine on Box set book cover design
It seems to me that the letters are representative of each of the albums included in the Shine On Boxed Set.
S=Saucerful Of Secrets
M=Meddle
D=Dark Side Of The Moon
W=Wish You Were Here
A=Animals
W=The Wall
M=Momentary Lapse Of Reason
Aside from that, it just seems to be some sort of solar system. But I'm not sure whether or not it corresponds to the one we live in. *shrug*

It took about 2 and 1/4 hours to complete...the first two hours werent all that bad, but the last 15 minutes were rough....I dont know if I was just getting worn out, or it was due to the area he did last.

I think I'm just gonna stick with Pink Floyd T-shirts for now, I can use them and then take them off, and it doesn't hurt.

Re: Shine on Box set book cover design
that is pretty damn cool.
according to the shine on book and storm's website, a company called stylorouge created that logo. who knows if the designer still works there, but you might try contacting them to get the story. here's a link: http://www.stylorouge.co.uk/
it looks to me like it's an illustration (fig. 1) from an old pre-kepler astological book that was trying to explain the movement of the planets (the one's we knew about at the time) using sacred geometry.
i find it interesting that the letters that correspond to the planets are different on the box and book art than they are on the cd art. as has already been pointed out, the m, s, m, d, w, a, w are all the album titles in the boxset. on the cd art, they're the musical notes a, c, b, g, d, f, e.
on the other hand, it's probably only me that finds that interesting. i've spent way too much time pointlessly searching for clues to the enigma.
