Bought it last night. Nice.

Certainly is an update of "In the Flesh" (which i also have).

Looking through both books, I certainly hope all the material that was filmed in France in 1970 (there is more than just the San Tropez gig that was filmed) eventually appears and some of the Italy stuff.

Is there a significant enough difference between this book and Pigs Might Fly to make it worth getting?

Actually, Stephen, it is quite different. It consists largely of a chronological list of every gig/festival, recording session and TV appearance they did, with all known set lists included. The actual writing is pretty slim. The pictures are pretty good, because it is a large book, but a lot of them are old posters with some rare band photos.

It's more of a reference book really whereas the Mark Blake book is something you can sit down and read.

O--O <- Edit: this was aimed at Hogman.

She's a yin to your yang. She can fill your every void.

I bought that Pratt book the other day for a litlle light amusement during vacation.
It seems like I should get this book as well...if it's still available.
I guess it's nice to have all of the facts and dates on one spot - without turning your computer on.

1. Uh, well, I'm used to being the one filling voids  Actually, Sniffer has no reason to use the blushing smiley...her post was concise - something I had a problem dealing with earlier in the day for a marketing deadline.

2. Any good?

3. Yes, get it. You too Stephen!!

4. Yes. This book is an update of "In the Flesh" for the most part. I actually like to flip through certain eras at times and see what was up - like holy smokes, they performed It Would Be So Nice live!!!??? Or look at how hectic their schedule was at times: Two days in the studio for work on aSFoS, then two days of giging, back in the studio for a day, then a TV show, etc. AND more importantly, but frustrating is when it is suggested entire gigs were filmed (especially 1970) and maybe even broadcast on television - where is the footage...all in one great big book - it is larger than the hard-cover of Nicky's book. It was really inexpensive at HMV (I was surprised).

I enjoyed Guy Pratt's book. It was a nice light read and he's not a man who takes himself too seriously. He was a bad boy in his day though (plenty of drink/drugs/women...sometimes at the same time!) and it's not hard to see why it took Rick a long time to come to terms with Guy hooking up with Gala.
