Is there any option for turning it off completely? I could see it becoming irritating after a while. I thought I'd managed to shut it off using Adblock but it's come back. If there was something in the user control panel it would be great.

It is not a part of the forum software so there is no option to turn it off sorry. In its minimised state you will soon get used to it. Change is good! Change is nice!

Nice job mate. This is in my book a nice litlle refreshement.
Dont know how much I'll use it, but it could be an ok feature for the newer members.

One of the neat plug-ins for Firefox (maybe IE too?) is Cool Iris and clicking on the Youtube link on the new toolbar takes you to those Floyd related videos displayed using Cool Iris, like so:
