Interstellar Factory plays psychedelic Pink Floyd

Post by Interstellar Factory »

Hi everybody!

I'm new to this forum.

I wanted to promote our demo of some of the songs we usually play live.

We are an italian band that plays psychedelic Floyd stuff, 1967-1972.
Last year we recorded a demo, that we published at our myspace www.myspace.com/interstellarfactory and recently at jamendo:
http://www.jamendo.com/it/album/60850

I would be glad to read your comments regarding our project or our songs.

We also got a youtube channel:

www.youtube.com/interstellarfactory

where you can listen oldies like Careful With That Axe, Eugene, Interstellar Overdrive or Amazing Pudding.

Thanks in advance

Cheers.

:)

Its cool you play only early stuff. I think too many Floyd tribute bands get hung up doing the Wall stuff and end up apearing like bar bands. Its cool you even call AHM "The Amazing Pudding". I am only half surprised you come from Italy, the early Floyd seem really popular there from what I gather. Any ideas?

Hi my breakfast.

It was our initial idea, to concentrate exclusively on early Floyd...
For several reasons.
One of these reasons is the fact that we're crapy musicians, just as the early Floyd were...
It's a joke. We're crapier

Anyway, for now we're on the early Floyd stuff, because we find it more interesting and challenging.
Playing stuff from the sell-out albums like Dark Side, WYWH or The Wall, can give you more satisfaction (and more public involvement), you basically limit yourself on executing, playing, reproducing, a sort of copying a track or a musical score...
It's a bit more mechanic... Especially if you get into playing the album and try to introduce every instrument that the Floyd used.
You turn then into a seven-eight piece band or even more. Things get to serious, and you goal becomes to play as the original. Sometimes falling into ridicolousness...

Instead, playing the early Floyd stuff, allows you, to grow musically. To improve your self.
You reinvent your self, what you play.
To us this is much more gratifying. And even more funny.

Actually we're playing only stuff from the '67-'72 period but in the future we might probably go further... Maximum till 1977...
But playing how they played live, not the album versions...

I dare say don't go any later than 1972. It would be cool if you make your own music eventually. Not sure if you know of them, but the Italian band Ufomammut have a psychedelic sound fused with heavier stuff as well.

Well, for the future, we plan to write something of our own...

Our "Roger Waters" already does it:
