Without a doubt the greatest concept album of all time! Roger Water's undisputed lyrical masterpiece. The way he ties together hacking someone up into little pieces with a lust for money and sheep is truly genius. The final song was a number one hit. Shine On You Crazy Diamond is easily the best dance song of all time and this is the classic short version. 5 Stars!

So, what reasons are there to purchase this album? Money, because it is the re-recorded version by Gilmour? Isn't the version of SOYCD on this album somewhat altered? We need answers from you PF collector dweebs with all that knowledge!!

Both SOYCD and ABITW are altered, but not as much to make the album worth buying. I can't really remember what was exactly changed in SOYCD, but I think that it has some solos chopped out and the verse from Part 2 pasted at the end. The version of ABITW begins with the guitar instead of a scream (like the single version), and ends up with Roger's yelling (like the album version).

It wouldn't have been a bad compilation to buy at the time if you weren't a big Pink Floyd fan and just wanted the "hits". The only noteworthy addition here, if that's the word for it, is David Gilmour's re-recording of Money. It's hard to put my finger on what exactly is wrong with this version as it's not all that different to the original but it's curiously soulless.

I can't vote sadly, as I haven't heard it properly. When I got into them 1990, I was also buying vinyl albums (from OUR PRICE nostalgia fans!) and the second PF album after DSOTM was Relics and I almost, almost bought this, but decided one compilation was enough and went for ASOS instead. I did hear it though when a friend got it. Can't quite remember what I thought except Money sounded odd.

Feeling like 2 stars musicwise, because it's like the tracks have been picked up and put at random. Also, the title is a good pun, but can be deceiving.
Still, one more thumb up to the cover picture.

There's no single dancefloor filler on this album. Sure, a couple of tracks are a bit groovy and it's got ABITW II, but hey, at the time this was released, disco had broken out, and again apart from Brick, nothing is really dancy here.

for it to be a pun the words would have to have two possible interpretations
irony is saying the opposite of what you mean

the gag is unoriginal, Throbbing Gristle already released the album 20 Jazz Funk Greats in 1979 which featured absolutely no jazz funk type toons so fars I could make out
