ROGER WATERS IN EMBARRASSING U.S. POLITICAL OPINION SHOCK!!!

Post by Jimi Dean Barrett »

Former Pink Floyd co-frontman Roger Waters has pleaded with US President Barack Obama to "develop bigger cojones".

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Waters admitted that he was "very disappointed" with the politician's foreign policy and said that although he would still vote for Obama, he wanted him to be more courageous.

"I'm very, very disappointed by his foreign policy," he said. "It obviously goes against everything that I believe. Having said that, it seems that the alternative to re-electing Obama would be such a heinous disaster for this country if you look at the candidates on the other side."

He then went on to add: So, I support Obama's attempt to become re-elected. But I hope he will develop bigger cojones and start governing in the way that I, and many of the people who supported him in the last election, would want him to.
Last month it was revealed that Waters, who will be on the road throughout 2012 with his live show in which he performs the entirety of Pink Floyd's classic 1979 concept album 'The Wall', will marry his long-term girlfriend Laurie Durning before he begins the tour. It will be the fourth time he has wed.

Earlier this year, meanwhile, he hinted that he would never reunite with Pink Floyd again after stating that he has "no wish" to work with them in the future.
Although it's come to something the cutting edge of new music is quoting interviews for Rolling Stone, I see it as more of a heads up for his latest magazine interview which some kind soul could type up for the benefit of the forum. Very unlikely this will be featured in the current issue of the NME, so save your money and- oh right. Way ahead of me...

I feel more embarrassed as to how feeble and obvious it seemed than him actually mentioning it.

Or you could just read it in your local newsagent 8-[
As an aside, does anyone know if Roger's an American citizen now and can he vote in elections over there?

I guess he must be an American citizen now. I didn't know that. Can't imagine he'd be able to vote otherwise. Love the bit where they say PF won't reform.

He was absolutely correct about Barockstar. If a Republican candidate should somehow win, this country will start to resemble Margaret Atwood's "The Handmaids Tale" overnight, and I will be forced to live elsewhere.

I doubt B>O has heard of Roger. He'll have heard the name Pink Floyd but apart from that I bet he doesn't know anything about them...not even that they had an album called Dark side of the moon.

Maybe, maybe not. One thing's for sure though - I doubt he'll lose any sleep tonight worrying about what Roger Waters thinks.

It's going to be Collectivist Moronicism, no matter who wins the next election. Either Obama will turn us into another Nazi Germany or someone else will turn us into something equally disgusting. *shrug*

I have recently commented on facebook that if I should ever lose all hope and decide to off myself, my suicide note will simply be a print out of the lyrics of this song:

http://youtu.be/E_BoAXopS54

We're setting sail to a place on the map
From which no-one has ever returned
Drawn by the promise of the joker and the fool
By the light of the crosses that burned
Drawn by the promise of the wormen and lace
And the gold and the cotton and pearls
It's the place where they keep all the darkness you need
You sail away from the light of the world on this trip, baby

You will pay tomorrow
You're gonna pay tomorrow
You will pay tomorrow

Oh, save me, save me from tomorrow
I don't want to sail with this Ship of Fools, no, no
Oh, save me, save me from tomorrow
I don't want to sail with this Ship of Fools, no
I want to run and hide
Right now

Avarice and greed are gonna drive you over the endless sea
They will leave you drifting in the shallows
Drowning in the oceans of history
Traveling the world, you're in search of no good
But I'm sure you'll build your Sodom like you knew you would
Using all the good people for your galley slaves
As your little boat struggles through the warning waves
But you don't pay

You will pay tomorrow
You're gonna pay tomorrow
You're gonna pay tomorrow

Oh, save me, save me from tomorrow
I don't want to sail with this Ship of Fools
Oh, save me, save me from tomorrow
I don't want to sail with no Ship of Fools,no,no,no

Where's it coming from
Oh, where's it going to
It's just a, it's just a Ship of Fools, ahhhh

All aboard!

i am listening to roger's howard stern interview from this morning and he was just asked if he ever became an american citizen and he said no, when asked why he said it never crossed his mind and he prefers to think of himself as 'a citizen of the world'

very interesting interview, the first i've ever heard with a member of PF where they are allowed to swear openly- really seems to help open him up : )

Roger is still not a US citizen... I'd like to hear him talk as much crap about his Queen as he does our Presidents.

It's hard not to talk crap about Trump, though. And that's somewhat to be expected given what Trump talks all the time... 8-[
