the wall is the worst of the 3 immersions in my opinion

absolutely nothing in the books that we have never seen before, the dvd is rubbish all already seen

cant see it ever coming out of the box again, (the outer box is the best part of it )

Here is a track list of what's on Under Construction. The demos from UC that are in the Immersion set in much better quality and sometimes slightly more complete are in GREEN, and in RED the demos that are unique to UC:

UNDER CONSTRUCTION

01. In The Flesh = disc 5 track 36 (= CD3 track 14)
02. The Thin Ice = disc 5 track 37 (= CD3 track 15)
03. Another Brick In The Wall Pt.1 = disc 5 track 38 (= CD3 track 16)
04. The Happiest Days Of Our Lives = disc 5 track 39 (= CD3 track 17)
05. Another Brick In The Wall Pt.2 = disc 5 track 40 (= CD3 track 18)
06. Mother = disc 5 track 41 (= CD3 track 19)
07. Goodbye Blue Sky
08. Empty Spaces Pt.1
09. Young Lust (instrumental)
10. One Of My Turns = disc 6 track 16 (= CD3 track 20)
11. Don't Leave Me Now = disc 6 track 17 (= CD3 track 21)
12. Empty Spaces Pt.2 = disc 6 track 18 (= CD3 track 22)
13. What Shall We Do Now? = disc 6 track 19 (= CD3 track 23)
14. Another Brick In The Wall Pt.3 = disc 6 track 20 (= CD3 track 24)
15. Goodbye Cruel World = disc 6 track 21 (= CD3 track 25)
16. Is There Anybody Out There? Pt.1 = disc 6 track 01
17. Vera = disc 6 track 02
18. Bring The Boys Back Home = disc 6 track 03
19. Is There Anybody Out There? Pt.2
20. Is There Anybody Out There? Pt.3
21. Comfortably Numb
22. Hey You = disc 6 track 04
23. The Show Much Go On
24. In The Flesh = disc 6 track 06
25. Run Like Hell (instrumental)
26. Waiting For The Worms = disc 6 track 08
27. Stop
28. The Trial (piano demo)
29. Outside The Wall = disc 6 track 13[/QUOTE]

I'm surprised that this version of Comfortably Numb is only on UC as it's my favorite version of the lot!

I wonder what the reasoning is behind not including these other demos that are in wide circulation? Where did the Under Construction recordings come from? :)

A shame that these are left out.
Part 2 seems to me an early version of 'Nobody Home' (a title which doesn't appear on 'Under Construction'). "Out there on your own, naked by the telephone."
Part 3 seems to me an answer to the punk vocal style of Johnny Rotten/Lydon of the time.

Waters sounds a bit out of tune on these recordings, but that's what can happen with a work under progress.

I agree with you, strange to have left these out. And the lyrics you are quoting are from "Hey You." \:D/

Well we know where they came from, we just don't know who originally leaked them. I know my source anyway and I was one of the 1st to get them. \:D/

Yes, you're right. ](*,)
Still, 'Nobody Home' repeatedly refers to a (tele)phone.

I think 'Out There' Part 2 and Part 3 are interesting, but a bit too annoying. Only interesting for freaks like me.
Part 3 also reminds me of John Frusciante's first solo CDs. (Niandra and Smile) Apparently, this is what an artistic isolation can do with an artist. The short film 'Stuff' looks to me like a real life version of the 'Nobody Home' movie segment. And the mad singing also reminds of Barrett, in 'Long Gone' and 'Wolfpack'. I think that Part 3 might a bit too close to what happened with Waters at the end of the 1970s and in the early 1980s. Maybe it's a miracle that Waters didn't go the Barrett way.

Confess! Confess! Or else we'll put you in a comfortable chair, to make you confess.
(Lousy reference to Monty Python's Spanish Inquisition.)

Agreed!! And the worst thing for me, is I can't seem to find my copy of Under Construction. ](*,) Probably in a box, as the house is being re-wired right now.

EDIT: Found my copy of Under Construction!!! <ii>

Dang the reason I thought The Wall Immersion set had such a lackluster track list was the hope that the entire Earl's Court Wall concert DVD would be included as a surprise (the contents of this set seemed intentionally vague originally). The Wall is my favorite PF album, but now that I know for sure there's no concert DVD I think I'll get the other Immersion sets and pass on this one, grrr :/ I bought the gold MFSL "Wall" disc when it came out which sounds fantastic, guess I'll be happy with that and just listen to the demos on YouTube eventually.

(Was hoping the full concert would be included as a DVD easter egg at least, that woulda been so cool....)

Just listening to the demos now and they're very revealing. They demonstrate just how much work the band put into improving the rough but imaginative demo work. The version of 'Teacher' which later went onto TFC is mental - its like a completely different song!

P.S. Waters' impression of a patronising psychiatrist in the right channel during the verse of 'The Doctor' is hysterically funny

Interview with Gerald Scarf in The Scum...

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sh ... s-mad.html

Some of the most pointless and useless questions asked in journalism in 2012 I think. This paper is truly the dregs from the underbelly of life. Appalling rag of shit.

Not to realistic. Why "hide" what could be one of the biggest selling points of the box? And a 2-hour Easter egg?

I don't think it was that bad!

You gotta have in mind that these interviews are done and published for the general public and not just for hardcore PF fans.

 I was on about the filthly paper in general! Indeed, there needs to be some mass market publicity for Why Pink Floyd I guess. :)
