Last-Minute Put-Together Boogie Band 1972 live recording

Apparently a few years back someone had found a long-lost live recording of a Last-Minute Put-Together Boogie Band gig in 1972, featuring Syd Barrett.
29 minutes long.

I wonder what happened to the bootleg and if it was actually real. I googled it a bit with no results except these news.

That news story is from 2005 man. 8)

The recording exists, for sure. The Hawkwind part of the gig is out there as a (semi)official release called "Leave No Star Unturned". It is rough, but listenable.

But yes, I know, that's why I wondered what came out of it after all, if anything. Good to hear about Hawks, however I'm more interested in the Syd's part.

And boy, Syd had a nice beard, almost like Rick around the same time.

And the rest of the Stars (obviously not from this very concert... or is it?)

Also, check THIS out :D

Some more pictures, if you don't mind

Finally, this - concerns the boogie Band as well.

I've never been convinced that this is a picture of Syd. I've seen it posted many times before. The face looks different in the proportions of the nose. The hair and beard are no match for any other photos of him, but who knows? The guitar looks to be a Vox, judging by the shorter thinner headstock.

A shame we never got to hear it. I assume someone's expectations were set too high as to how much money they thought could make from this, and they never received the amount they wanted. It's usually about money isn't it?

For what it is, a rough jam and a rough recording and where Syd's contribution may or may not be discernible in the recording it's only of minor interest really. I'd still like to hear it but I think that after getting over the initial "OMG another Syd recording!" the actual content will be quite disappointing. Now if they'd had an actual Stars performance that'd be quite different!

I lost hope quite a long time ago - must be years now. Besides, I think it will turn out to be a let down.

In terms of probably being interesting for one listen, because I am a PF fan. Like Roger's cover of Across the Universe.

The Concert by The Last Minute Put Together Boogie Band is due to be officially released in Spring next year 2014 and will be available from usual sources such as Amazon , Hmv etc . The recording does indeed feature guest appearance by Syd Barret who appears on two songs only. Also guesting is Fred Frith. The concert was recorded on the same day in January 1972 as the Hawkwind set which we (Easy Action ) 'Officially' released as an album a couple of years ago. That album was licensed from EMI Music so is not 'semi-offical' under any circumstances.
Also on the bill were The Pink Fairies and yes we have that show also. We are the owners of the tapes having purchased them three years ago after they failed to sell at Christies. The tapes for the LMPTBB are currently being restored and mastered and we are hoping to have our first review in Shindig magazine shortly after Christmas. Twink has been interviewed extensively by rock DJ Jon Kirkman and we are currently pondering on artwork .
I wont be answering stuff on here but any questions can be put to us and we will gladly answer if we can at [email protected]
hope that helps a bit
