The Pink Floyd Exhibition - Their Mortal Remains

Post by UsNotThem »

So, this was posted on Pink Floyd's Facebook page.

A touring exhibition of their history, maybe?

Looks exciting. Probably something similar to the Pink Floyd Interstellar exhibition in Paris a good 10 years ago. Nice to see it has a supporting website. Hopefully there will be lots of interactive things on the supporting website.

Very exciting.

I think it's exhibition at Fabbrica del Vapore (Milan) which will be held from August 2014 to January 2015. There'll be different sections: music, show, history, world, design, people...

I think it's better to ask Italian-speaking Floyd fans about it.

Sounds like this could well be connected.
"Il Giornale" on December 17 last year speaks of the cultural events approved by the Municipality of Milan for the "Steam Factory." Among these, the exhibition "The Art of Pink Floyd" (from August 2014 to January 2015), which, through sections 7, will tell the story of the British band.
Who will translate this Italian??

Well, the article does not say much more other than: "The art of Pink Floyd", for the first time the band history will be shown through an "art exhibition", in seven sections (films, history, films, history, words, people and design) and also there will be some talks and events geared around the younger generation.

Has the feel of a fan convention which could be quite cool as an official event.

If it is linked to the exhibition in Italy, I hope it's a touring exhibition as I'd love to see this. It looks very interesting!

If not, I'm hoping to check out the Hipgnosis exhibition in Birmingham sometime in the next month.

I am hoping to drive down tomorrow morning to Birmingham to see the exhibition, maybe take a few pictures and flash people's eyes out.

As for The Pink Floyd Exhibition, I quite fancy a trip to Milan if that is where it will be hosted. 8)

I was reading that earlier this afternoon. Looks good to me.
Powell says: “If ever a band lent itself to a major retrospective exhibition, it’s Pink Floyd. Selecting what to include from such a treasure trove is both a dream and a nightmare. However, there were elements that just had to be included, for example a twenty-metre wide sculpture of The Wall, five-metre high inflatables, and of course, a flying pig.

“We’ll be aiming for state-of-the-art visuals and sonic delivery, similar to the experience of attending a Pink Floyd concert; you’ll never know what to expect next.”

The Pink Floyd Exhibition – Their Mortal Remains opens on September 19, with tickets on sale this Thursday (February 27) via www.pinkfloydexhibition.com

Update -

Ticket purchased for DAY ONE, complete with special box :)

Apparently the "CAP" error was something to do with a location problem and has clearly now been sorted. I tried all sorts of combinations of England and United Kingdom but the system did not appear to recognise my location as 'within the EU'

Apparently, Gilmour is recording or has already recorded some new music made specifically for this event.

Is there any "new" material about Syd Barrett?
Will Nick Mason finally show the footage he rather talks about than share?
Will any unreleased Barrett Floyd audio be heard?

I guess the answers are... no, no and no. ](*,)

The event has been postponed due to production delays. Had anyone booked tickets to attend?
