Now that the project presently referred to as "Double Core II" is underway, I'd like to take the opportunity to reach out to those who may not be musically inclined, but are photographically/graphically inclined.
This project is going to require some arwork; the more "Hipgnosis-like," the better.
Floyd Council did a sublime job with Double Core; but it looks like they haven't even visited the forum in about five years, so...that position is once again open. It doesn't have to all be one person, although I do think it was the "unified eye" which gave the Double Core artwork it's character.
We'll figure it out as we go along, of course.
Also, I think it should have a title other than "Double Core II." As much of a wonderful serendipity as the original was, I'd like for it to retain it's own identity and to see this project earn it's own. The fact that it's another "Floydian" tribute album of original material should be enough of a "link" to Double Core.
So, the purpose of this thread is to give people a place to post their suggestions for a title and maybe samples of their artwork, for anyone interested in submitting.

Re: Double Core II Needs A Name/Artwork
I'll get the ball rolling with a suggestion for a name: Listen Carefully

For anybody interested, and who doesn't know about them, these are the 'Listening Ears' at Dungeness. They were built in the 1920's-30's, and 'listened' for enemy aircraft coming across the English Channel towards the Kent coast. Fortunately, radar was invented soon after...

Re: Double Core II Needs A Name/Artwork
I like the pictures, but I'm not crazy about the title, if only because it's a "communication" title, which was already covered in "The Division Bell."
But...I'm not a dictator, this will all be put up to a vote, eventually.
"Listen Carefully" makes as fine of a first contender as any other string of words, though.
Let's keep them coming, though!

Also, if you happen to have an idea for more than one, toss it in.
Dunno if that went without having to be said or not...

I really like the pictures! I get a kick out of exploring and viewing abandoned property.
Here's some possible titles just off the top of my head:
Compass
Smiling Negatively
Embers of Time

The theme of "abandoned human structures" fits perfectly with the music videos for "Marooned" and "Louder Than Words". Very Floydian indeed!

Me too. Concrete fascinates me - it turns so ugly. Mind you, some would say it never looked good in the first place!cwta eugene wrote:I get a kick out of exploring and viewing abandoned property.
This has a clever second meaning.cwta eugene wrote:Embers of Time
