I've been really enjoying this guy's album. https://yoskosinthecosmos.bandcamp.com/releases It's quite mellow, more psychedelic folk. But I love the hippie trippy cosmic lyrics and how he subtly works in the psychedelic vibe in his production.

Nice MG. I am still digging a lot of old and new psychedelic music, and I am glad this thread still lives.

For those who haven't listened to.. Notorious Byrd Brothers by The Byrds, it's just brilliant. It's got that Sgt Pepper vibe to it and most of it is like a medley (the bit I love most about it) and it's got some beautiful melodies.

I'm surprised this band hasn't been mentioned on Neptune before.
And I'm happy to be the first. :P

I like Australian psychedelic rock. The Lovetones are my favourite band.

Finally got my hands on the new Quantum Fantay.

For some reason they haven't put it out digitally yet, so you have to get a CD shipped from Europe.

Image
01. Tessellate
02. Manas Kavya
03. Astral Projection
04. Skytopia (a) Azure (Sky Blue)
05. Skytopia (b) Laputa (Castle in the Sky)
06. Skytopia (c) Ignis Fatuus (Illusion)
07. Skytopia (d) Empyrean (Cosmos)
08. Anahata

I don't think it's quite as good as their last album, but their last album is one of my all time favourites. The new one is really growing on me too. The first 3 tracks are killer and the longer piece Skytopia is very cool.

Top listens of 2017 just to prove I'm still alive:

Cobra Family Picnic - Magnetic Anomaly (new one for me and played a lot; probably my favourite one of 2017)
Electric Moon - Stardust Rituals
The Myrrors - Hasta La Victoria and split with Centralstodet called Ljudkamrater (played this a lot too; both bands)
Zone Six - Forever Hugo
Sonic Shamen - Tribute to Lemmy (wasn’t what I expected; it was better and worth a few listens imo)
Mythic Sunship - Land Between Rivers (2nd one didn’t disappoint)
Hills - Uncollected Sounds and Alive at Roadburn (love pretty much everything this band does)
Dhidalah - No Water
Black Moon Circle - Flowing into the 3rd Dimension (3rd in a series of jam session albums which are best played loud on headphones: the usual)

I’ve got some catching up to do so currently listening to Vespero - Shum-Sir, Vibravoid - Mushroom Mantras, Zong - S/T and new Sendelica. Interested in hearing the new 3rd Ear Experience one - Stoned Gold. Spent a fair bit of time recently going back through Dire Wolves stuff. Anyone else into them? Looking forward to seeing what you have been listening to this year - see what other good stuff I've missed!

These Dire Wolves?

https://direwolvesbbib.bandcamp.com/

Found a few bands using that name.

Also here's my favourites from the year (some might be previous years, whoops), roughly in order of most listened down to least

Image

Øresund Space Collective - Live @ Woodstock (2017-02-15)
Øresund Space Collective - Hallucinations inside the Oracle
Electric Octopus - Driving Under The Influence Of Jams
Electric Octopus - Line Standing
Sleeping Pandora - Quiet Pass
The Spacelords - Water Planet
Agusa - Agusa
Papir - V
Spacedogs - Fyshe Pool
Kungens Män - Dag & Natt
Causa Sui - Vibraciones Doradas
3rd Ear Experience - Stoned Gold
Space Debris - Behind The Gate
Space Debris - Back To Universe - Archive Vol. 4
Silas Neptune - The Scales of Tahuti
N-1 - Octomorph
N-1 - Alle nur noch Handys, früher hatten wir (N-1 live im Weltkunstzimmer zu Düsseldorf)
Quantum Fantay - Tessellation Of Euclidean Space
Apodemus - Orbital Elements
Cracked Machine - I, Cosmonaut
Mother Engine - Hangar
Electric Orange - EOXXV
Samsara Blues Experiment - One With The Universe
Low Sun - Icicles

It's mostly psych stuff, but there's so much genre bending and mixing these days that it's hard to pigeonhole stuff. It's all good at least!

Yes, that’s them. Better link here for back catalogue:

I’ll check out the albums of 2017 you recommended, thanks.
I heard some already for example Papir, Kungens Man and The Spacelords – Stoned Gold by the 3rd Ear Experience didn’t disappoint.
Check out Nicklas Sorenson Solo 1 and Solo 2 on El Paraiso label, same label as Causa Sui. Mythic Sunship also on that label. Really impressed with their third, Upheaval. Check out track 4, Into Oblivion.
Have you hear Mind Minerals yet by Carlton Melton? Already on my best of 2018 list!
Take care and keep logging in!
Where is everyone?

I've already heard half of those, but the other half are welcome additions!

Loving the Absorb / Implode EP
Moongazer was hit and miss, some fantastic songs followed by some that really put me off
Xo-Ology was very cool

I'll get to the rest tomorrow.

Also, one that completely slipped under my radar, a new live double LP + cassette from Space Debris: Mountain Ultimate & Spacedelic Odyssey

Maybe the most unexpected turn of events in human history thus far with Snooker's Steve "Interesting" Davis becoming a mestro of psychedelic contemporary house music with the group The Utopia Strong.
