Project KAOS question

Post by Vegetable Layne »

I just came across this version of Project KAOS that includes the following:

01 Get Back To Radio
02 Radio Waves
03 Who Needs Information
04 Folded Flags
05 Me Or Him
06 The Powers That Be
07 Going To Live In L.A.
08 The Fish Report With A Beat
09 Sunset Strip
10 Molly's Song
11 Home
12 Four Minutes
13 The Tide Is Turning (After Live Aid)
14 Pipes And Drums

Is this a more recent version of CHAD's? Cause I thought his didn't include Molly's Song originally.

With all those tracks the morse on the sleeve must be quite small ... ](*,)

My UK first release 'CD KAOS 1' only has eight listed tracks -

01 Radio Waves
02 Who Needs Information
03 Me Or Him
04 The Powers That Be
05 Sunset Strip
06 Home
07 Four Minutes
08 The Tide Is Turning

This is a question about a fan-mix of Radio KAOS, called Project KAOS.

Fair enough, now I sort of 'understand' ... I have copies of the official Radio KAOS plus the KOAS Reigns (revised) which, like your Project KAOS, also has 14 tracks but with subtle differences and re-ordering -

01 Get Back To Radio
02 Radio Waves
03 Welcome to the Machine
04 Who Needs Information
05 Money
06 Molly's Song
07 Me Or Him
08 The Powers That Be
09 Going To Live In L.A.
10 Sunset Strip
11 The Fish Report With A Beat
12 Home
13 Four Minutes
14 The Tide Is Turning (After Live Aid)

With Reimagining being the new thing... Do you think we'd see a reimagined Radio KAOS with a different tracklisting?
I'd be interested to hear the demo version of The Pros And Cons Of Hitchhiking in a heartbeat. But revisiting this album?
Glad people are getting more out from it than I did. Must have been really impressive Live production with the DJ and Q&A.

I've always liked the material on Radio KAOS. Wish Waters would do to it what PF have apparently done to AMLOR.

I have a copy of a fan-created album called "A Desperate Attempt At Perfection", which is an interesting mix of Radio KAOS and A Momentary Lapse of Reason.

1. Learning To Fly
2. Me Or Him
3. Radio Waves
4. Strange Rhythm
5. The Dogs Of War
6. Sunset Strip
7. Signs Of Voices
8. A New Machine
9. Yet Another Movie
10. Home
11. ...Another Few Minutes Of The New Machine
12. Goodbye Little Spy In The Sky!
13. On The Turning Away

I doubt we'll get any new treatment from Roger as it's well known he's not a fan of the album, which is a shame as I think it's a great piece of work.

Yeah, that'd KAOS Reigns, which I don't have. But still interesting to see yet another interpretation of this album.

The copy of Project KAOS I have has two songs from When the Wind Blows, but the reason is I am aware of the same mix with three songs (Tower Faith is that other song) and Molly's Song not included. All I wish to know is which version came first and when?

Wow, is it any good? How'd you get it, if I may ask?

I honestly can't remember. It's not a physical copy, that much is certain so it could've come from any source.

Chads liner notes from the 2000 release

Radio KAOS was released at the height of the Cold War. It truly defined the times with its Reagan era inspired lyrics and its semi-synthesized mid-80's production. Radio KAOS was the first Roger Waters album that I was introduced to and I immediately fell in love with it after hearing The Tide Is Turning. I always felt that Radio KAOS was too short. It times in at about 40 minutes and I was always left wanting more. Roger released a few B-sides and an accompanying video at the time and now, 13 years later, I have taken the liberty of mixing them into the album and saving it in MP3 format. Thus creating what I feel to be the definitive version of the album. I hope you enjoy PROJECT KAOS

1. Get Back To Radio (4:51)
2. Radio Waves (Extended) (6:57)
3. Who Needs Information? (5:55)
4. Folded Flags (4:27)
5. Me Or Him (5:17)
6. Towers Of Faith (6:50)
7. The Powers That Be (3:57)
8. Going To Live In LA (5:38)
9. The Fish Report With A Beat (1:49)
10. Sunset Strip (4:46)
11. Home (6:00)
12. Four Minutes (4:00)
13. The Tide is Turning (6:16)
14. Pipes And Drums (1:30)
