Listening to a lot of Kaleidoscope lately, especially the LP "Beacon From Mars". Some really interesting ideas, and such a diverse range of styles! I recall reading an interview where Jimmy Page called them his favourite band of all time, and I can see why...

Also really been digging a lot of Turkish psych rock from the 60s/70s, especially Selda Bagcan. The Eastern scales seem to merge really well with the general psychedelic ethos...

Man, I haven't listened to Kaleidoscope in ages. Time to revisit them. David Lindley was in that band, if I recall.

Also, if you like that Turkish psychedelic sound, check out current band Altın Gün, who have revived the sound and are really excellent.

Just search the band name on youtube. There are other videos. Pity though, it's a mighty good performance.

Just for kicks, here is the link to the SoundCloud of some of my favorite songs of mine that I did in the studio over the years, all written and created & played by me except drums on "Mister Psychedelic Man" and "Blind Muddy Hooker."

Hope you enjoy those first two tracks as fellow fans of Floyd, Tangerine Dream, etc.
(and if you think they suck, hey, you're getting them for free 8) )

The early Floyd albums are certainly "psychedelic", but their classic era is the stuff you'd want to trip to. Most "psychedelic" bands, especially American ones, are really just stoner rock. If I were still as brave/stupid as I was in a past life, I would much prefer Cluster/Harmonia/Roedelius/Moebius/Qluster for the occasion over any "rock" music.
