This may seem a bit of a quibbling point, but it's something I have to say out loud.
The track divisions on the Ummagumma CDs for Sysyphus are complete nonsense - I'll list them below for reference.
Part 1: 0:00-1:09 (1:09)
Part 2: 1:09-4:39 (3:30)
Part 3: 4:39-6:29 (1:50)
Part 4: 6:29-13:27 (7:00)
For me the worst offender is the division between Part 1 and 2 - together, those sound like one cohesive part, but they're divided up for some reason. Part 4 has the opposite issue - it sounds like two distinct sections, but is grouped as one track. Why?
To me, the divisions below make more sense - each track corresponds to each easily identifiable part of the Sysyphus suite.
Part 1: 0:00 - 4:39 (4:39)
Part 2: 4:39-6:29 (1:50)
Part 3: 6:29-9:43 (3:14)
Part 4: 9:43-13:29 (3:46)
Again, this might seem like a quibbling point, but I'm curious what you all think, and if there's an actual reason why they're divvied up like they are on the CD, I would love to know it .

Re: Sysyphus Track Divisions
...I never studied the track listings for this track! I thought the quiet but that fades out then big crash (still makes a friend of mine shit himself no matter what volume! ) was one part?
The piano falling away into nonsense should have been joined after the riff. I agree.
Sterling work though! No, it isn't a bugbear. I'm hearing like that from now on. Cheers!

I always felt 'Sysyphus' track divisions was weird in a way. But, I never delved into any deeper analysis of what the problem is.

Honestly, I weirdly like it. There are some interesting ideas going on in it, especially in the second half.Kerry King wrote: ↑Sat Aug 15, 2020 9:20 pmThe problem is...space triangle wrote: ↑Fri Aug 14, 2020 6:37 pm I never delved into any deeper analysis of what the problem is.
