A Saucerful of Secrets - Record Store Day Release

The mono release from 1968 is finally getting a re-release! This is excellent news - this is something I've wanted an official release for since I found some low-quality copies of it on YouTube. I know I'm shelling out whatever the asking price for it is!

Wonder if it'll be faithful to the old mono mix I've heard so much about?

I know some probably quite rightfully scoff at mono reissues and that the money machine is being turned on once more, but as I can only hear in one ear these mono issues are great. It means I can listen with headphones on and not miss out on the right hand stereo field! Where some mixes dramatically use stereo it often becomes unlistenable (examples: crazy stereo panning at the end of Interstellar, the rocket on Get Your Filthy Hands etc). Trying to listen to the Doors first record is hilarious. I have Jim and Robbie in one ear - and totally miss what Ray & John are doing.

Feel free to name other crazy stereo effects on PF songs for amusement!

Indeed, good news ... the Kris Sylvain 'DEMO' CD M-6898 issued a few years ago is good but a proper version will be nice to have

I'm sure I've seen somewhere, that it's limited to 6000 copies. I'll try and get a copy, as I did with Piper, last year, though I paid over the odds for it. (I think RSD seems to be a bit of a rip off in certain shops just my humble opinion! Although it's grown over the years, there ARE some stores that keep copies behind, as I saw with the Roger Water's release, couple of years ago, then they sell them off at a reduced price after the actual day! I suppose this is what us vinyl freaks have to do to get a copy!

I've ordered a copy on line, tho it wasn't featured on the RSD 1st drop date? So still waiting on confirmation. I've also ordered Rogers The Wall in Berlin on clear vinyl, which has been dispatched.

I already have that single, it is included in The Later Years box as a 7" vinyl. It has a completely different cover and etching, but same material.
