Thanks for posting the Unicorn clips, Ziggy. Surprised to quite like them... hearing a Gene Clark influence amongst other things. I can picture Gilmour could've spent the 70s playing this sort of music if the Floyd opportunity hadn't presented itself...

You're very welcome! They have other great tracks as well, but he didn't produce every track on some of the albums, so I only posted ones I know he had a hand in. The old quad mixes of Wish You Were Here feature this same style of pedal steel on the title track; in the stereo mix is reduced to subtle "Great Gig" type chords.

I failed to mention that this band featured Gilmour's longtime friend, Tim Renwick, who played on the soundtrack for The Wall, the first leg of the Pros and Cons tour (he and Clapton quit at the same time), and 300+ Pink Floyd concerts after that, including Live 8.

Sutherland Brothers & Quiver with their big hit, "Arms of Mary" (which has been covered by quite a few artists, including Keith Urban).
(Again, featuring Tim Renwick on lead guitar.)

This is a fascinating program, particularly the section near the end where they isolate all of the vocal tracks for "Shine On You Crazy Diamond". They do sound a bit confused about who's singing what - they clearly think David was singing the verses and the choruses, but as you can hear, he does sing a lot on it, harmonizing with himself and The Blackberries.

The cover of Ummagumma album has the album “Gigi” leaning against the wall immediately above the PINK FLOYD letters. ‘Gigi” is a 1958 American musical film directed by Vincente Minnelli.

^^^
On most copies of American and Canadian editions, the “Gigi” cover is airbrushed to a plain white sleeve because of copyright concerns.
