Delicate Sound of Thunder Standalone Release (November 2020)

Post by Master_Chief »

At last!

Delicate Sound of Thunder Remix will receive standalone releases on November 18th 2020.

They have confirmed CD, DVD, Blu-Ray and triple vinyl versions, but interestingly the song list for the DVD and Blu Ray omits a large portion of the set.

Very nice. I expected this, it is the same approach they had with The Early Years box set, selling individual slices of it later.

I think it was more obvious with The Early Years, since it was already portioned into smaller sets & already announced beforehand that there would be "breakout" releases later. But I'm glad about this; my fandom is not big enough to spend as much money on a set like The Later Years, even if I love that period of PF. This smaller set will do me nicely.

I’ll probably buy the vinyl even though I’m not a fan of this period of Pink Frau...errr...Pink Floyd.

Depending on the price of
Course.

So does this include the r full comfortably numb solo or is it the same edited version as before? I’m assuming it’s the same item as the one in the later years.

(Shame about pulse keeping the cuts)

I'm likely going to purchase this on vinyl.

It's $63 on Amazon right now and I have $15 in credits...going to see if I can scare up another gift card and get it below $40.

I was always a fan of Division Bell, but could never get into AMLoR/DSoT...until I heard the bootleg of the Miami show, and that performance of "Welcome to the Machine" in particular. It gave perspective to their overall sound at that time, and showed me that it really was the same band that had played it ten years earlier, albeit with a few necessary adjustments in between. Since hearing that, both AMLoR and DSoT have grown on me, even prior to the recently revamped versions that I enjoy even more.

IMO this show is the best shot WTTM and its lightshow. The lightshow really suited the song

https://youtu.be/Ak02mP57aNQ

quality is not so good thanks to Youtube but the actual bootleg is good quality

I greatly enjoy both of the live albums, but they make me wish Floyd had recorded on real live album....

And I wish they'd press Is There Anybody Out There? on vinyl!!
