I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet, but here it is.

Snowy White, of course, toured with the Floyd in 1977, added a solo for the 8-track version of "Pig on the Wing", played lead (!) on Peter Green's In the Skies, played lead on Rick Wright's Wet Dream, then joined Thin Lizzy and recorded Chinatown in between the various first legs of the 1980 Wall tour. He was then touring with Thin Lizzy during the 1981 Wall tour, where he was replaced by Andy Roberts. He was also asked to join the Pros and Cons tour in 1984, but by then had accidentally made a hit single.

Since Snowy White had been poached by Thin Lizzy and would be touring with them, Andy Roberts joined the "surrogate band" for the 1981 Wall tour, having worked with Gilmour on Roy Harper's The Unknown Soldier in 1980. Prior to that, he'd released seven solo albums and was a founding member of Plainsong, whose 1972 debut album In Search of Amelia Earhart was a partial concept album about...well, that.

"One of my all time favourites of my own songs is 'First Thing In The Morning'. It's difficult to know exactly why this is so but I think it relates to my emotional state when I try to put myself into the place of a first world war soldier or survivor.... and to my own idea of how successfully those extreme, sad, wild and angry emotions show up in the song almost subtly, without being overbearing, triumphal or melodramatic. I think that I really managed to rise to the occasion in both the writing and the performance. I was helped a great deal in the performance by Andy Roberts' almost country interpretation and my own desire to head off into a rockabilly feel in the last verse." - Roy Harper

'If it said Pink Floyd on it, you know, I'd sell ten million albums!"

The Final Cut still hasn't hit the three million mark. :-({|=

and the comments he said about his involvement with Pink Floyd matters and re-releases he has no say in it and does not concern him. Yet he was moaning about it last year

Can't remember if I've already posted this or not, but screw it...it's monitized to Pink Floyd, so let's get them some more cash.

Something I did in a spare hour or so about five years ago:

Featuring Gilmour on guitar, circa 1989 - and his 1958 Gretsch White Penguin makes an appearance!

From the Christie's auction, where it fetched $447,000:
"It would not be hyperbole to say that White Penguins are one of the rarest American vintage guitars to exist in the market."

Gilmour: "At some point I heard there was a sister or brother guitar to the White Falcon and set around to find one of those. It’s a lovely instrument with something all of its own. These guitars can be so similar, same make, but they sing out in a different way. I’ve played it a lot, it’s a lovely, lovely thing."
