Live at Pompeii: Recreated in Cheshire by Chris Hewitt

Post by Keith Jordan »

As part of the promo work for the limited edition 500 copies WEM PA book, featuring Pink Floyd's setup, there was a recreation in a field in Cheshire where One Of These Days was played using similar WEM rig.

Love how the drummer dropped a stick, too!

Who is Stephen McElroy? Anyone I should know about?

Shame about the stick, yes. Schoolboy error. Stephen McElroy is the guitarist from Australian Pink Floyd I think. They are in town playing at the Liverpool Empire near me soon I think, I should have got a ticket.

Thanks for sharing the third video. I didn't know those big horn speakers were from 1930s cinema setting so I learn't something from the video. It looked like a lot of fun to put the rig together.

I am in Cheshire myself.... I thought I heard someone playing one of these days....

I didn't see any stick drop, when in the vid does it happen?

Guessing it might be deliberate as Nick drops a stick in the original and the drummer here is a youtuber who posts impeccable nick mason drum covers on youtube

At 4:38. You hear the cymbals drop out while he grabs another stick (which you can also see.)

Ah yes, I see it now. And just like in nick's performance there's no disruption to the groove

I wonder if they filmed any more tracks. That's a lot of gear to set up for one song!
