David Gilmour Setlist 2024

Post by Djgilmour »

So Dave said he will *not* sing any 70s songs from pink floyd.
One song from the 60s and all other songs will be from amlor, tdb and his solo stuff.

I agree on not playing money, time, shine on, wywh, comfortably numb, run like hell

So here are the songs he *should* play:

There’s no way out of here
Mihalis
Raise my rent
Murder
Near the End
On an Island
On the Turning Away
One Slip
Sorrow
Marooned
What do you want from me
Keep talking
High hopes

and then?

Childhood’s End (he has never played this!)
Young Lust (original version 1 with the demo lyrics, never been performed ever)
Hey You (hasn’t played it since 94)
Have a Cigar (has never played it solo or since 1977)
Not now John (this is a fucking great rock song)
The Final cut (because it has the best solo ever by any man ever made)

I would pay $5,000 to see him perform this set!

It will be nice to have a live album that doesn't feature Run Like Hell.

Not a big fan of that song....and all the live records have it!

Yeah, i hate that song too, he only plays it because he got credit for it.

What do you think of my proposed setlist?

No way he doesn’t play Comfortably Numb and Wish You Were Here, there would be a revolt in the stadium.

Frim his recent interview:

However, it appears these shows may not feature Gilmour playing some of Pink Floyd’s biggest songs. He told Uncut (h/t Neptune Pink Floyd) in a new interview that he has “an unwillingness to revisit the Pink Floyd of the ‘70s.”

Furthermore, Gilmour expressed he’s more likely to revisit Pink Floyd material from the ’60s, 1987’s A Momentary Lapse of Reason and 1994’s The Division Bell. Gilmour particularly singled out the later album’s closing track, “High Hopes,” which he called “as good as anything we ever did at any time.”

We'll see (me not live) what he plays. But, this is a suggestion from me if he does what he say that he will. (Which I think he will.) Not predicting that these will be played; just me thinking of what I personally would find interesting..

Signs of Life
<Songs from Luck and Strange>
Smile
No Way
What Do You Want From Me
Rattle That Lock
See Emily Play
Fat Old Sun
On the Turning Away
Murder
Pocketful of Stones
Sorrow
A Great Day for Freedom
High Hopes
Breakthrough (Rick Wright tribute)

(Encore)
Learning to Fly
Bike
Where We Start

it's better than what he's been doing, but we're going to be talking about a man who's got enough of a solo catalog to ignore all of the Pink Floyd albums.

I want that.

Give me David Gilmour top to bottom, not Pink Floyd.

I'll tell you the same about Roger.

But not Nick...his albums suck.

This is a Pink Floyd setlist.

Call Roger and all the football stadiums and do this.

Great choices- I do hope he plays something from Endless River, I'd love to hear "Talkin' Hawkin".

I also hope he keeps "The Blue" in the set, and "Short And Sweet" from his first solo album would be a nice addition.

This is a Pink Floyd setlist.

I don't think that Roger would do a setlist where he didn't write or co-write even one song.

Being as Roger wrote or co-wrote 75% (and I'm being conservative here) of Pink Floyd's best music, I think I'm ok with that. ;)

NOTE: I was assuming we'd pull out the Gilmour solo for proper Pink Floyd tunes.
