Obscure lyric The Wall

Post by UG85 »

I am looking for a version of Another Brick in the Wall that contains the quote “What we have here is a failure to communicate” I found a previous thread but no answer. I know it is in GNR Civil War. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have a bottle of Jack on the line

The quote also comes from the movie Cool Hand Luke.

You’re not wrong. It definitely exists. Maybe it was from the movie’s Director’s cut or maybe from a live performance? It’s crazy I can’t find a single reference to it except you and someone else asking the same question. It’s real. We’re not crazy.

Fan edits have been around for as long as someone has had two or more tape machines to work with.

If you heard it on the radio, it could have been something a DJ did in the production room or even live on the air. In 1988, I was working at a radio station and just to amuse myself, I cut between the studio and live versions of "Marathon" by Rush, extending the song to ten minutes with two guitar solos and multiple repeats of the final chorus.
