Tour 2025?

Post by The lunetic »

I was wondering if there are any rumours of David going on tour again next year? It would be nice to see him back on the road again and play more concerts with his new album!

I’d guess it would be after another album release…He declared affirmatively that the last MSG show was the”final night of the Luck and Strange Tour” I’d bet we see Guy with NMSOS touring the US next year if I were a betting man

I do hope we get another album in 2025. I have enjoyed having this latest one and seeing him in London.

A new album would take him at least 3 tot 5 years. By the time he will then go on tour he will be 82-83. Don't see that one happen...

Perhaps he already recorded loads of it already and split some off from his current project. You never know. From what he has been saying recently, he seems to have enjoyed the touring band in particular - who appear on his Luck and Strange album too. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a David Gilmour Tour 2025.

As mentioned in another thread, David Gilmour was talking about making his next album, possibly in 2025 I would hope, in an interview with Rick Beato.

Based on deadlines, and what happened last year, a new album would have to be ready by late Spring for an Autumn release.
Although it sounded as if David was well underway with a follow up ( to Luck and Strange ) maybe it might be 2026 realistically.

As for more shows, same format : Choice USA venues, RAH, again and perhaps some outdoor Euro shows, but I reckon next year.

I’m also praying we see NM’s Saucers again, although given they played an extensive tour last year, will they do anymore ?..

The trouble with David is he likes to play select venues - especially in the uk. On the last couple of tours he has only played the RAH with a capacity of 5000 each night that means around 30000 people get a chance to see him and it makes the tickets difficult to get and expensive. He could pretty much achieve that by playing the O2 or the Coop in Manchester.

Yes, it’s a shame David is fixated with the RAH. Personally, I don’t like the venue for rock shows as prestigious as it is. I find it very uncomfortable depending on the configuration, and the last time I was there, I was sat sideways in the rousing circle !

But some choice outdoor shows across Euroland next year would be very agreeable.

If there is another tour this quickly after the last one, maybe he won't feel the need to play the same Pink Floyd songs once again. Maybe even play some songs from his earlier solo albums.
