who has the best voice: david or roger?

I prefer David's voice, but just a little bit. Roger does make up for his singing ability with emotion, but that's not to say that David's singing is emotionless! Rick, too, has a unique voice, so I guess really I like them all. Still, I suppose I do prefer David's just a tiny bit.

Sorry, but when people say Roger can't sing i think of that as a ridiculous claim. How can you justify it? Sure, you could say he's not as good as Dave (which i also think is wrong) but what justification is there to say he's crap? He's got a technically good voice with a great range and the ability to change it quickly and put emotion in to it.

Listen again to TFC, that's based more upon singing than instruments i would say, Roger saved that album with his voice and made it 40 minutes of intensity e.t.c with the only weak points in the album IMO coming from the instrumental sections.

So to all those people who say Roger can't sing, try to justify it.

David for me. And Rodger sings fine to. I just place David as the one I
think sings PF tunes better.

I heard once that Phil Collins cant dance, he can't sing, the only thing about him is the way he walks?

Roger can sing, my favorite song he sings is Gunners Dream. I just think David is a better singer, Rogers a better writer. But David can write as well

.

So I think Rogers as good as a singer, as David is a writer. And vice versa.

Listen to songs like "Don?t leave me now" or "Bring the boys back home" for example.

That?s not "singing" that?s......

Listen to Rogers Versions of Floyd Songs on the "In the flesh" Live Album and compare it with the Versions on "P.U.L.S.E" fo example !

I'll have to join the fence-sitters on this one- they both have such passion, but in completely different ways. Dave is so smooth and controlled, and easy to listen to. Roger can make you feel his pain to the very core- truly a rare quality.

I must agree. He has a very specific voice and there are a couple of songs that Rick could sing better than Dave and Roger. It's, for example: The Gunner's Dream, On the turning away, Fat old sun...

For me, it's Roger. DG does/did a good job keeping the Pink Floyd music going after Roger. But it's not the same.

I like the way roger sings his songs (esp the wall) and i like the way david sings his (esp WYWH).

One thing I think is clear cut is that David is a much better singer in LIVE performances. It sometimes seems like roger doesnt even try to sing.
