Nick is a great drummer

Post by Keith Jordan »

As a drummer myself, I can really appreciate the skill of the man. It is a shame drummers don't get enough attention. I don't see why these guitarists and singers should get all the attention!!

What can we say about Nick then?? :?: :?:

I just can't remember if it was on One Of These Days or whatever at Pompei when he lost one of his sticks and just kept on playing with one and he did fills and everything.

That was awesome

My sticks are always flying across the room when i play. I become absent minded!!! :-)

I have a supply of drum sticks at hand for when that happens!

:P
I agree,Nick is a top drummer,it is easy for us Pink Floyd fans to say that because he is in the group, but you only have to watch and listen to the man to see he is great, things like "Set the controls..." and "One of these Days" are great examples of the great man.and that was amazing when he droped a stick playing "One of these days",i am glad they left t hat bit in the video.
Shine on Nick

Nick Mason is a very good drummer but not a great one!
Dont get me wrong, i like his playing but i think Chris Maitland of Porcupine Tree is a far better drummer-just listen to "Coma Divine"
you'll be amazed!

When I first bevame a fan of the Floyd about 4 years ago, I liked piper and nothing up to DSoTM!! Now I prefer the older stuff. I never grew up with that scene as I am only 20 so it took me a while to be come at one with it. As soon as I reaslised music could take my mind off somewhere...

I know what you're saying Keith, The Wall was my first Floyd album and that was when I discovered my love of music. The first album I ever related to I think, the first album to make me think about what I'm listening to. You raise an interesting point about your age. I'm (only) 27 and I always put my (young) age as the reason I never got into early Floyd! :) . Before my time, sounds old, etc etc etc!
