Does anyone know if David Gilmour's performance from Satuday Night Live is available anywhere? I've been searching for many months now, and have come up empty handed.

Was he on it or was it a rumour? The latter as far as I know!

Yes, he was definately on the show. Dec, 12th 1987. He performed an instrumental version of Born Under a Bad Sign w/the house band, and another song, I think is called Ah, Robertson it's You. The latter also being an instrumental w/the house band, but I'm not positive on the details of that song.

Ah, another April 1st Floyd gag. They're becoming classics in their own right.

As far as the SNL show I mentioned, it is true. I've found the SNL musical guest lists on Comedy Central's site (it may have been a different site) but it was legit.

It is indeed quite legit.

I know because I was watching a re-run of that episode a few years back...the only thing I remember about it is as they were going to a commercial, I saw G E Smith mugging it up (like he always did) standing next to Gilmour.

I FREAKED!!!!

Unfortunately, my VCR was freaked at the time as well and I couldn't tape it.

But it happened.

I think the DVD collection being assembled may have it on there.

I watch SNL re-runs on Comedy Central as often as I can w/the VCR all ready to go. They rarely show too many from that era though. They've been more into the recent episodes. I went so far as to email Comedy Central and asked them to air that show. No response as of yet.

I have an mp3 of one of the songs from SNL......complete with the introduction.....so it is totally legit.......Keith, what is the best way for me to send it to you so you can make it available for download? (it's 5mb)

I just downloaded David Gilmour on SNL. Only one of the songs though. I'm assuming it must be "Ah, Robertson It's You", because it's definately not "Born Under a Bad Sign". If anyone would like me to email the song to them, send me a pm. It's of very good quality and is a really cool instrumental jam.
