Classic Rock Magazine

Post by The Gil »

The September 2006 issue of Classic Rock has a big section on Prog rock, including - of course - a bit on Syd.

It says he died of cancer - I thought he died from complications arising from diabetes?

Would you recommend it overall? Probably doesn't say too much about Syd that we don't already know (and doesn't sound like they have all their facts right either).

Is that the same Classic Rock that made all those DVDs of Pink Floyd ? If it is then I won't be buying their magazine. :smt011

There's only a 2-page spread about Syd (correct or incorrect!) but I enjoyed reading it (the whole magazine as well as the bit about Syd!). There's a good little article about one man's encounter with The Wall which made me laugh out loud a couple of times!

Doesn't this issue (which has not made it to NZ yet) include a prog rock compilation CD? Is it good?

I have never bought an issue of this mag, but might if one had enough good stuff in it to justify the price tag.

I have heard of very few of those bands (just four), and so would therefore probably be keen to check it out.

I've been listening to it over the past couple of days. It's not uneasy on the ear!

I really enjoyed it!

I didn't like the article but I was happy that it mentioned one famous greek band Aphrodite's Child. (I live in Greece that's why)
