"Me and JC", from Cement Garden... need it.

Post by Schmoburger »

Hey guys... I am going totally nuts trying to find a song from the 1992 film The Cement Garden.... an adaption of a novel by the same name.

I have deduced that the song is called "Me and JC", and was composed by Dave Gilmour for the movie... however it appears never to have been released on any album... there wasnt even a film soundtrack available.

In short, it doesnt exist at all except in a few scenes in said movie. :?

On the internet, only a few references even exist at all to the song, and I can't even find a bootlegged copy on Limewire, so things are looking grim. :(

It is in the tickling scene in the film... the one where Jack enters Julies room in a beekeping outfit and commences tickling her until such time as she has an unfortunate accident. The song begins playing on Julie's radio just as Jack is entering the room. IIRC the scene was either on Youtube or Googlevid... so search for it and you can prolly find it.

Not being able to track down this song is driving me bonkers... cos it is sooo damn good it should have been released!

Does anybody posess a copy of it that they could email or whatever to me, or know where I can find it elsewhere?

Cheers!

No you're not going mad and yes I am from Tasmania.

I've been having some crazy problems with NPF on my computer lately. Sometimes it just stops dead and does nothing. I think what happened here is that the site must have "hung" after I hit the submit button so I hit it again.

Apologies everyone.

Likewise, I've been wondering about this song.

The Cement Garden is available by bit torrent, at least it is in one private tracker. I'm downloading it now and then will seed it somewhere public. Should I try to edit the film down to just the clip with the song?

A song exists, as it seems, only on the soundtrack for the film The Cement Garden (1993)

So... 15 years after your question was asked...

I've looked for "Me and JC" and can't find it anywhere. However, I found out it's not the song on the radio that's in the tickling scene. The song is actually "Our Weakening Lives" by The Color.
