Re: Pink Floyd Box Set - "The Boy, The Man"
Hehe, well the man in the know (Floyd's manager) will be giving me some information next week in terms of release date and the title of the thing! If it has no title yet then I doubt it will be in production any time soon!

Re: Pink Floyd Box Set - "The Boy, The Man"
If they expect me to let go of my hard earned money for this box set, then they better bring it. I mean 1st class all the way, and not all the stuff we've seen and heard before.
Re: Pink Floyd Box Set - "The Boy, The Man"
i read this on another site...
"November 11, 2070 will be a date long remembered by fans of legendary rock group Pink Floyd...
The Members estates has decided to rerelease all forms of the "shine on" series... titled "Shine On The Complete Rerelease collection" on Hearing Aid 200+ format.
The first shine on release from the "shine on collection" was in 1992 and contained Digital Remasters of the bands most popular albums. It was Followed up in 2007 with a shitty deluxe Packaged box that few could afford and most those who could didnt buy, that contained all 16 studio albums and a crappy 30 min DVD that you could find on "torrent" sites only 2 days after it went on sale for free. (this was before King George W. Bush ruled torrent sites were terrible mainly due to he and his wifes amatuer home movie being stolen, widely circulated, then used in Viagra commercials) only 2 days after it went on sale for free.
Then there was the again hugely unpopular rerelease of it only 4 years later, at half price, due to the warehouse full that didnt sell in 2007.
The Band soon followed up with the next Box set "Shine On, Nursing Home Edition" in 2021 which contained the long awaited 5.1 Releases of the 16 studio releases. This sold suprisingly well considering 10.3 Higher Definition Audio had been out for nearly 2 years at that point.
Then in 2050 the 10.3 Audio edition was final released titled "Shine On, Revisited"
that contained again, all 16 studio albums and yet another crappy 30 min DVD only 17 years after 10.3 audio had went obsolete.
so here we are 2070, a new Floyd Box set containing all the albums you already have, In the classic 2007 box, with 2007 artwork reremastered for the Hearing Aid 200+...
for sale only on Home Shopping Network for the low price of $999, 997 plus $100 S&H... DONT WAIT, SUPPLIES ARE LIMITED.
is this what the future holds for Floyd? "

Fans of the Band, but not of the Man.
The virtues of the business management must not be confused with the artistic virtues of the band. It would be nice if the former were more in touch with our needs for the latter, though. But they don't seem to be. I'll eat my words if the set contains DSotM in both MFSL and Toshiba black triangle version ...

Interesting...all the CDs in mini-lps, a DVD with Floyd members reminiscing! Just what we need.

If all the CDs are SACD, I'd be interested. SACD direct from the original analogue masters would be a huge improvement over most of the current PF releases.

What's SACD? I'm such a hopeless technophobe.

I can actually see a point if they are new remasterings.

Re: Pink Floyd Box Set - "The Boy, The Man"
But what's this "The Boy, The Man" shite?
I mean, if it's all of the studio albums, why not just call the damned thing "Pink Floyd?"
PINK FLOYD
As in: everything they did is here...no need to call it anything fecking else.
