Ficticious Syd's third album.

Post by Syd Park »

Good evening everyone,

I composed this imaginary Syd's solo album a couple of months ago. I uploaded it on Piper Forum in last december. You know the end of the story about this site. I just decided to share it with you here.

Awesome idea. I am sure Syd would like it if he had seen it.

Hi again Moom,

Of course, I composed all titles songs inspiring by words (like "jolly good singles", "lucid and elleptical", etc.) that Syd said himself in his last "coherent interviews". So you can imagine that members of Stars composed them, though those songs don't exist. You can download all. That is why I uploaded this here. Art must travel.

As an (ex-) "Astral Piper weirdo", a "sick deviant" (where I read this ?), I am an old fan of Syd. I admit that the "dark aspect" of his life is a part of my interest like many poets, painters and writers that I admire for the authenticity of their art: Aragon, Baudelaire, William Blake, Maurice Blanchot, Marcel Duchamp, Claude Gauvreau, Kafka, Lovecraft, Jim Morrison, George Orwell, etc. All these genious peoples who gave all their energy in art until madness or simply until death. These peoples are my heroes because they give to the world his reason to be or at least his full flavour.

Jeez Marco it's stuff like this thread that's making normal Barrett fans look like weirdos!! There's a difference between loving his music and his photos and making up crazy stuff like this! Yea I wrote a poem on his anniversary, but I also wrote one for Gilmour's birthday! And I put Barrett's poem on Barrett's site and Gilmour's on his site! If you wanna put stuff like this up, may be best to keep it at the Barrett site with others who like to dream of what could have been. Or maybe a poetry/art site!

I'm not denying it's a nice piece, but it's the underlying theme that makes us Barrett fans seem the way you people describe us to be. We're not all weird just because we're Barrett fans.

Not necessarily true GG! I think the imaginary album is pretty cool and shows artistic flair. One can dream without being delusional. Don't let the opinions of a couple of people deter others from sharing their talent for all to see. It sure beats inflamatory, generalised and judgemental commentary  8)

Key phrase being "imaginary album" there Gina! I guess now we wait for that other guy from Barrett to pop up with all of his ficticious ramblings, huh? I think the art on this "album cover" is very nice, but Barrett stopped recording some DECADES AGO!! So when my beloved Gilmour goes to that great gig in the sky I won't be ridiculed for designing album covers for the music he could have made had he not crossed over? And I can write imaginary stories about how Gilmour probably thought, walked, talked and so on? This is rubbish Gina, I'm sorry! And for the person who started this thread to say he was drawn to Barrett because of his mental illness is even more rubbish! There's a difference between dreams and delusion. I dream about having mad sex with David Gilmour. I'm not delusional to think it would ever happen nor would I make-up fantasy tales of doing it and post them on a board.

Very eloquent reaction mesdames. It is a "pastiche", i-e a very sophisticated genre of humor.

Pastiche: n. m. (ital. pasticcio, pâté; proprement: mauvais pâté). Oeuvre littéraire ou artistique dans laquelle on imite le style, la manière d'un écrivain, d'un artiste.

Source: Larousse illustré.*

*It is a dictionary.

Thanks J Ed.

I am proud to be wierd, but in the good sense of term.

Greeting,
