Yet I wouldn't like to dismiss both albums, TFC and Piper, those are  :) ...

You can say that Piper contains a lot of experimental stuff. I´m not saying progish but newish. I get bored with Final Cut. And I get bored with any other country music. You can predict the chord changes, even the notes.
You wanna know how much I like the Wall ?

But hey, it´s a question about music taste. Mine is just better !

and now back to the topic !

I've never heard the 1974 sessions... not planning to either.

To be honest, you're not really missing much. One track is quite nice ("If You Go"), but the rest makes for pretty depressing listening.

Hmm, was "If You Go" originally titled by Syd or was it Jenner´s sence of humor ?

It's actually the only track from the 1974 sessions that Syd named.

Well, that could be said about a hell lot of their tracks, aren't we used to them :) ? Besides, listening to a depressing stuff isn't bad if you know the way back to joy. And those happy-wappy songs - THAT is boring ;) .

Btw, I suppose these sessions are available somewhere :) ?

Is If You Go one of the 6 tracks that circulate? I'm too lazy to try and make sense of what track is what. It is interesting that all of the tracks on the "comp reel" of the best bits are from the first day of the sessions. Syd filled up several reels of unheard recordings on the next 2 days. I'd like to hear them just in case there is some studio chatter more than anything.

I found the studio chatter off the expanded first album where he says his guitar is "nice and jangly" quite interesting.
