Re: Cats.
Cats can be really enjoyable to have as pets, but they can also be little pains in the butts. My mother has 3 that are a mess to deal with. Any type of pet can be a hassle if not trained properly or neglected for long periods of time, but regardless, I am still not interested in having any sort of cats whatsoever and probably won't be in the future either.

Re: Cats.
We have three very naughty kitty cats in our house right now and none of them are mine! My cat ran away about a year ago! The cats are indoor cats who want to be outdoor cats! We have to watch them all the time so they don't get out of our house!

Dear Cat Owner,
Following are instructions on the best way to bathe your cat:
1. Thoroughly clean the toilet.
2. Add the required amount of shampoo to the toilet water, and have both lids lifted.
3. Obtain the cat and soothe him while you carry him towards the bathroom.
4. In one smooth movement, put the cat in the toilet and close both lids (you may need to stand on the lid so that he cannot escape). CAUTION: Don't get any part of your body too close to the edge, as his paws will be reaching out to grab anything they can find. The cat will self-agitate and make ample suds. Never mind the noises that come from your toilet, the cat is actually enjoying this.
5. Flush the toilet 3 or 4 times. This provides a "powerwash and rinse" which I have found to be quite effective.
6. Have someone open the door to the outside and ensure that there are no people between the toilet and the outside door.
7. Stand behind the toilet as far as you can, and quickly lift both lids.
8. The now-clean cat will rocket out of the toilet and run outside where he will dry himself.
Sincerely,
The DOG

Re: Cats.
We've got a Labrador and a street-kitten (that just came running) and they live in harmony - but yesterday
we adopted our middle-daughters big M.F. outdoor-cat...
... and that will take a while before they can cope with him!
In a week or so, we will see if it works....
I thought this thread was about Lloyd Webber, so I never bothered, ha ha...

Re: Cats.
I have been dreaming about my old cat lately. I had to put her down a few years ago...I think I am getting close to the anniversary date. I still don't have another cat...they keep dying, you know, with a shorter life span and all.

Re: Cats.
I hope you consider visiting a shelter and adopting, Nosaj. I adopt older cats and dogs, because there are so many unwanted ones. Kittens and puppies are so much fun, and if you give one of them a home, it is a good thing too. I can understand why you would want more years with a pet. Accepting the loss of an animal that is cherished is not easy. They give so much love and comfort. If I am unhappy, my cat Leo comes from out of nowhere to sit on my lap and soothe me. I don't like to upset him, so I force myself to cheer up on his behalf.
My cat Penny died this last summer, and I still think I see her occasionally, out of the corner of my eye. I miss her as much as any human that I have lost to death, and more than some of them.
