What are you watching, or last thing you watched?

Talk about anything in here from the price of tea to the state of the economy!

Doomsday Preppers, on the National Geographic ch.

What's not to love about a reality series that follows the lives of various nutjobs who are all looking forward to the end of civilization?

One particularly fascinating couple have stockpiled enough food for a five-year feast. Not just a little food. The female has an apparent interest in eating--very apparent--and she has gourmet fare on hand. She and her husband practice for Armageddon by tiptoeing around in thier dark basement...pistols drawn...shhh...they communicate with each other by tapping out Morse code..."I'm by the butter bins...don't shoot...munch, munch..."..."I'm by the water heater...where are the grenades?"...etc.
The thing that this couple seems to have in common with the other featured nutters, are their unspoken but clear conviction that no matter what ends the world...somehow they will crawl out after a nice short passage of time and be the Rulers of the Cockroaches, They always have a faint smile on their faces when they are discussing the eradication of the human race. They all have different theories on what will cause it, but at the end, they're the winners.

The first thing I'm going to do when it becomes clear that the world is ending, is find that couple and eat that fat bitch.

Classic Albums: Peter Gabriels "So" ... very good - one of the better documentaries in the series.

"The Stratpack" honoring the Fender Stratocaster.
Dave playing "Coming back to life" from Division Bell on his white, battered Strat - amplified with a Marshall-rack.
Continuing on the red Strat with "Sorrow" from AMLOR.
Then finishing up with the gang on Wood and Lanes "Stay with me"

You know his got the first Strat, labeled [Strat #0001] from 1954, huh?
I didn't, before now...

extremely loud and incredibly close.
it was very well done, well acted and an interesting story line..... but since there were several hours on sept. 11 when i didn't know where mr boo was (having come through the doors of the wtc minutes before the first plane hit), for me the film was "incredibly close" ... disturbing and uplifting at the same time. hard to explain my feelings about it.

boo!

Obviously too deep for me.
Glad you aren't a widow.

I am watching a reality (lol) series...Mama's Boys. Grown men that dress like Mob wannabees...brag about their mother's cooking, cleaning, and wiping their asses...sneaking bimbos up the stairs for a swift boot-knocking...ugh. Their goal is to suck their mummy's last drop of life out, and then to inherit whatever the poor old broads have left. Grown men.
If I ever met one of these guys, I would end up murdered, because would definitely not appreciate my sense of humor or my opinion of them.

Reality series are appearing like the plague, because it turns out that every third idiot on the planet wants to be a "star", even if it means exposing themselves to ridicule, because they are usually being filmed because they are ridiculous. Every dirty little habit and secret is aired for public consumption, nothing is sacred. Sacred isn't even a word in these creature's vocabularies. Most of them have never read a book, and don't have much in the way of vocabularies. I feel dumber just having watched them, but I tell myself that I'm watching from a sociological viewpoint, and then I don't feel like such a chump for wasting my time on such garbage.

"Reality" is cheaper to produce than programs that require actual writers and actors, and even though it is scorned for not being factual or real, if there is even a kernel of truth in any of these programs....
It makes the thought of colliding with Andromeda a little more palatable.
