What are you watching, or last thing you watched?

Talk about anything in here from the price of tea to the state of the economy!

I'm pretty sure I recorded it as well. It was excellent. Loved the Synth Britannia one they did too. And the Heavy Metal one. All those Brummie metalheads.

Back on topic, a BBC 4 documentary on Bells of all things. It was really good.

The synth one was good as it dealt with all the early industrial bands that contributed a lot to that whole movement. The Krautrock one was also really good though everybody will have a niggle about which bands were or were not included under the umbrella of krautrock.

I just saw Paul last night, the comedy film about the alien. I was perhaps most surprised by the homoeroticism that bubbled under the surface both between the two main characters and the two useless FBI characters. Throwing in a bucket of cultural references was also quite cool, and the UFO-nerd stuff was also quite cool. However I didn't find the film that satisfying overall.

I think, like just about everything Simon Pegg has ever done, the core problem with the movie is that one's enjoyment is largely determined from having seen whatever bunch of nerdy movies the films asks of you. The movies work more as spoofs than homages, too many winks at the camera, and creates the movie equivalent of an episode of Family Guy (albeit, a slightly more British version)

Saw Cabin in the Woods rather recently and really dug it. While its going to divide audiences, i thought the subtext about pleasing horror audiences was really well done. It was the nicest way of saying something very negative. Shame that a lot of people will have gone to it expecting a horror movie and come out dissapointed (as soon as it ended a guy behind me said 'that was shite') but then thats why i will try and read a bit about a movie before i see it.

I've been watching Futurama through it's entire series, episode by episode. I'm in the middle of the movies right now, then onto Season 5.

Haven't seen it completely yet, since it's quite long. But so far I've been enjoying it.
